HID lighting choices

HI I am using 3 MH lights for veg and early flower. I then plan on switching two of the MH lights out for HPS bulbs of equal wattage. We've all heard that using a combo of MH and HPS in flower provides a more complete spectrum ,but its worth noting than an HPS bulb puts out more lumens than an equivalent MH. So should I go with the combo or use all HPS?

Id go all hps. I dont know about extra lumens and all that jazz. All i know is that im seriously considering punting my mh out of the flower room in favor of another hps because of low yeilds.

I run hps all the time, even in veg, but I still supplement with T5s for the blue spectrum. I switched out the T5s for LED this round. Much more impressed.

If all you have are HID lights, I'd say run the 2 and 1. Spectrum is almost as important as lumen output in my opinion.

I personally agree with the full spectrum HPS + MH combo but i have heard conflicting information on if full HPS out performs a MH addition so it would be fun to see other peoples experiences. I am loving the full spectrum LED's running from mars hydro as you said they are definitely an upgrade from the accessory t5's of yesteryear. I can't wait to see what the addition of 2 1000 HPS's do in flower.

You do know about the dual arc bulbs out now don't you?
600 hps and 400 mh in one 1k bulb?
Their getting some good reviews here.
Still, the 315 CMD's are getting better one's!

If you have the patience to read that whole thread I linked above.....You'll see all that and even guy's doing things with T5's you obviously don't know that can be!

You'll be happy with your 1 K hps just fine!

24 Pages Here we go bongsmilie, and i agree I wont be disappointed with the 1000's but there's nothing wrong with expanding the knowledge base and trying to optimize.:bigjoint:

I have done the dual ark thing in my opinion run all hps to get bigger yields. what is done today is not to run a mh in flower but instead the last 7 days run a 10k bulb to bring out the quality there is a lot of science that suggests this as well .
