Watts of combined panels and t8 leds 1056 W. (Diodes) off the wall according to my killawat reads between 760w-764w (fluctuations) compared to my old 600w led all together I spent around 640$ cash 200 ish for the 400w 80 for the two 300w panels and 60 a piece for the 4 t8 leds. plus I bought it all piece by piece so it was cost effective for me. Now I know you can buy one really good led for that but personally I can't drop a whole paycheck on a light if they had led layaway I'd happily will make the switch but I live paycheck yo paycheck at the moment
Everyones situation is different and I understand having a tight budget,I had to save up for every upgrade I've done. I think many people have a hard time comprehending just how big of a difference quality and efficiency with the right spectrum can make in LED. I had one cabinet for two plants that had decent yield and great quality with LED in the 90 lm/w range. When I upgraded to a new LED with 128 lm/w I was able to run less total wattage and my yield went up 40% with the same great quality. There are going to be new LED lights this year with great parts and much lower prices that will make buying these less efficient lights just crazy.

is that just a hunch you're having? because i heard that same thing about half a year ago. no drop at all in prices. Lucky me im overseas for another year (total of two). so i have the time to wait.. but i can only hope they do just that... if they drop in price, and good quality LED's are about double the cost of HID ill be getting LED no questions asked... but as the prices stand right now, its hard to tell... im willing to spend $650 on LED to cover a 5x5 area.. i figure the investment is good for electricity, heat/accidental fires, but also what no one really talks about is there would be no worry about a ballast RF interference with your neighbors. being arrested multipule times, that is a great investment in my books for worry free insurance lol.. But sadly, right now i just cant afford them!

EDIT: hell ill even pay $800 for LEDs that are good to cover my full area, because as it stands right now ill be buying a good RF shielded ballast which would cost about 300 in itself

I call bullshit. Dude I have two Mars II 1600w and one 1200w and a 900w plus two Mars 100x3watt. I'm not running 5900watts I'm running running 2653 true watts actual power being drawn and the light do work but he doesn't need all that for a 5 x5 tent.

You can call bullshit all you like mate, or you can look for Doozys 2300w LED grow on 420, where it's all documented.

The draw at the plug is around 1100w, meaning i have around 45w per square foot.

I'm currently flowering under a Mars Hydro II 1600 LED. For the heck of it, I also hung my old Mars Hydro 300 as a supplement for a corner in my 4x4 grow tent. The actual draw on my outlet is anywhere between 705-740 watts.

So far, not too bad. I'm in flower week 5, day 1. We'll see if the buds swell up a bit. Currently, they r just covered with trichs...
