I just switched to flower and went straight to bloom nutes. My leaves started turning yellow but I read that it's because I'm suppose to keep feeding veg nutes for couple weeks into flower so can I just add that in seperatly just now or do I need to flush then add it

Stick with Grow nutrients to get 'green' again and feed with a PK at 1/4 strength to support flowering and work up to 1/2 strength over the next few weeks and to be honest I go all the way until harvest this way, bloom is a rip off and this thread proves this.

The leaves of the plants WILL turn yellow, there is nothing to worry about. The plant is putting all it's energy into making buds. Continue to fertilize, using the same ratio of fertilizer. Also, here are a few more tips I use. One, juice some mangos and add that (about one ounce per plant to the fertilizer liquid or just water) to your plants twice a week. Mangos contain TERPENES, like any fruit. Terpenes are what give marijuana their distinctive smell and flavor, increasing the smell and flavor of the plant, and might increase potency also! I don't recommend you use pre-made mango juice. It contains only 20 percent mango juice and a lot of sugar. Also, go out and buy BLACK STRAP MOLASSES. Mix one teaspoon per quart into the fertilizer or water mix. BSM has a certain type of sugar that pot plants use readily. This will help to increase bud thickness. Also, if you want, i would recommend using TONIC WATER, which has CARBON DIOXIDE, which the plants use immediately once it is poured into the soil. DO NOT use club soda, it contains quinine, which could kill the plants!! I recommend FLAVORED tonic water, such as Adirondack tonic water, which has flavors such as WHITE CHOCOLATE (MY FAVORITE), and one that smells like bubble gum (wild berry), which I am using on my blueberry and super silver haze plants, along with the white chocolate. The carbon dioxide gives the plant a boost, and in conjunction with the mango juice, black strap molasses and tonic water, is a potent blast that will help the plants make nice, big, thick buds. Now, as far as the yellow leaves are concerned, you should use a method called DEFOLIATION. That is when you pull off ALL of the fan leaves (the large ones), leaving only the top fan leaves. This forces the plant to put it's energy into making side shoots, where the buds come from. You can do that after about one month, when the plant is mature enough to handle it. You can smoke the leaves and get a good buzz. Just dry them in the microwave. Here's how. Take two pieces of paper towel and wet them so they are fairly wet. Place the leaves between the two pieces of wet towel, folding over the sides and front so the steam stays in the towels. Set the microwave at 30 percent heat, and set the timer for about 3 1/2 minutes. Start the microwave and check the pot after about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes so it doesn't overdry. After 3 1/2 minutes, take it out and check it. It should be almost dry and kind of sticky to the touch. If it isn't dry, then put it back in the microwave at 30 percent power again for 30 seconds, checking it every 15 seconds. You may have to add MORE time or less, depending on your microwave and how powerful it is. It is a matter of trail and error because each microwave is different. NOW ENJOY! If you do this correctly (the defoliation), you can have smoke ALMOST EVERY DAY until you pull them for the harvest! I would also recommend you use LIGHT STRESS TRAINING, which is taking each branch, bending it down, and using twist ties, tie each branch LOOSELY as not to damage them, and pull them down to expose the center, tying the twist tie to the pot by creating a hole, or by taping it to the pot. This allows the center to be exposed, allowing more light and air to get through, increasing the amount of side branches, which means, more buds. It may look funny having a naked plant along the sides, but it pays great dividends in the end with more buds. I recommend CFL lights because they don't produce a lot of heat, and you can keep them INCHES from the top of the plant without damaging the plant, making the plant BUSHY instead of stalking when using hot lighting. Hope that helps.

when you harvest hang the plant upside down to dry. That allows all the thc to drain outta the roots and stems into the buds. This will really bring out that mango flavor. if that's the juice you use. Personally I like fruity pebbles.

Fruity pebbles does not contain terpenes, it is a breakfast cereal and will do nothing to add to the flavor, smell or potency of the pot.

The blind leads the blind. Cut the shenanigans. Unless you're growing organically, using molasses is pointless in hydro and in synthetic grows. Molasses does nothing for your plant and certainly DOES NOT make your buds thicker. However, a good genetic, good environment, healthy soil, healthy plant and happy root system does. In fact, plants (of any kind) do not and will never intake molasses. I don't know how and why people keep coming up with these ridiculous ideas. What molasses does do, is feed the micro herds (microbes and beneficial bacteria) in your organic-only soil. This in turn, helps your root uptake water and nutrient a lot more efficiently and effectively. Micro herds help plants naturally fight off pest, disease, stress, extreme temps, etc. Micro herds also unlock various nutrients that's locked in soil and break it down then releases it into something (nutrients) a plant can use. This leads to a bigger, stronger, healthier, more vigorous higher yielding plant.

Can't really recommend removing a bunch of fan leaves at the start of flower either, all you are doing is slowing growth.heh just my opinion based on observations I've made ofc.AND there's no THC in the roots, hanging upside down is old wives tale and pointless.

Yellowing is bad, you want them to be a healthy green throughout the grow. He's probably using some high P food that's killing his plant

Well EXPERTS say it works! People have done this before with great success, so I guess YOU know more than the experts, right? It has sugar that the plants use right away and other micro ingredients that help the plant make bigger buds. Obviously you need good soil, with micro organisms, but this helps when the plant is FLOWERING, not growing. Well, what defoliation does is allow the plant to focus all it's energy on making new shoots that makes the buds! And you want buds, not leaves! So it does work because I'm doing it right now, and my plants, one super silver haze, is loaded with buds everywhere, and the blueberry plants are just starting to bud now, and there are lots of shoots for buds. And all the fan leaves are GONE, and they are very healthy! If you want BUDS, not just leaves, then you should defoliate, and use light stress training, to open the center to light and air.

You should really flush the plants the last two weeks, otherwise, the fertilizer will make the smoke harsh and taste terrible. It also allows the buildup of terpenes to come through, enhancing the flavor, smell and possibly, the potency also.

You might be overdoing it with the nutrients. If your plants are yellowing, which, if it is flowering, is normal, but you want to be sure, first thing to check is the SOIL PH. That would cause yellowing of the tips and curling under of the leaves. More than likely though, if you use a good fertilizer (NOT miracle grow, it's way too concentrated and it's not chelated, so the plants can absorb it easier), you can make sure by using only at 1/4 to 1/2 strength, fertilizing every time you water, and every week or so, flush it with clean water or tonic water (not club soda, which has quinine) to give the plant a CO2 boost!

Those same experts also say buy into snake oil. In fact, buy the most expensive nute you can find (like Advance Nutrient). It must work that's why it's so expensive. The more expensive, the better it works right? Also, why go and cut off the very thing that provides food and energy for the plant? Ever try adding lights to the lower branches? You'd be amazed with the end results. I've only been growing for 15 years and go off of my own experience/experiment and not by some "expert's" advice. Again, like i said, molasses in organic works ok and it actually makes sense because you're feeding the soil (micro herds) with sugar and carbs, which then feeds the plant. You're not feeding the plant directly. In sythethic or hydro grows, it does nothing because synthetic chemical kills the all microorganisms living in the soil. Hydro has no sort of microbial life. At best, molasses has very little to almost no trace of mineral that a plant is able to use and can be used as a below decent cal/mag suppliment. Don't know where you're getting your information from but there is no such thing as "molasses has sugars that plant uses right away". If anything, plants are very limited to uptaking sugars and they already produce THEIR OWN sugar and meals through a process called photosynthesis, via the leaves. You know, the one you're encouraging people to chop off. Yep it feels good to have real life experience and some botany knowledge.

I want you to stand back and really think about something. When is the last time you saw anyone defoliating orange or apple trees? Vegetables?

Come on. Use your brain. Leaves are what drive bud production.

Well we aren't talking about apples or vegetables but pot, that you SMOKE. Do you smoke oranges or apples? Common sense dictates that if you defoliate the plant, it forces light and air into the center of the plant, allowing the plant to make shoots that become buds. Leaves DO NOT drive bud production, I don't know where you heard that, but it's WRONG! Leaves actually have very little thc in them, otherwise, we would be smoking the leaves instead of the buds. Buds are made when the plant senses the loss of daylight, down to 12 hours a day, which signals the plant to start making buds (and seeds in male plants) to continue the species. Leaves only are useful during the first month of the vegetative cycle, when they need the leaves to absorb light, to make chlorophyll which they turn to sugar needed for vegetative growth. After that, leaves just take away the energy from the plant which should be going towards making buds. That is why you remove most of the leaves, except the very tops.
