HELP please !! root lock ??

The reason you add nutrients first before adjusting ph+/- is because nutrients will change your ph when they are mixed together. Most people either need ph up all the time or ph down all the time. I use ph down 90% of the time and if I use too much, ph up. So, you guessed it, to raise or lower ph, a FEW DROPS of either one you need.... A FEW DROPS in the reservoir, and then leave it alone for ten minutes. Then check the ph again and adjust. Try to aim for 5.6 to start if your ph naturally keeps going up, or 6.0 to start if it keeps naturally going down.

Add Water, Nutrients, then ph, wait a few days, add water, nutrients, then ph, wait a few days, ................. Just always shoot for your target PPM and your target PH! (Your target ppm always changes every week, too, thats another paragraph..... )

I would set your PH at 5.5 and let it float up all the to 6.0-6.2 so it can absorb the most nutrients. To lower it I would first add water or top off only use PH down if needed that shit is strong stuff. I probably use less than 10 drops of that stuff per grow, the PH up I go through lots of that stuff.

Ok got it. Thx guys i use ph down 90% of the time aswell. My concern was i wasnt doing it right. But i have been doing it in that order. I had a target number of 5.9 but it would b best to drop to 5.5 - 5.6. When i check ph should i take out the air stone while checking it ? Sry for so many questions. Thx again for all the help everyone !!

Air stones stay in 24/7, and always stay on, 24/7. You dont need to remove them to check anything. Do keep them clean, however. Rinse em under water every week or two.

You have indoor marijuana horticulture? Where in there does it say run your ph at 5.5? My copy says 5.8 to 6.2. 5.5 is too low I think if your having problems adjust it upwards. It really should be neutral to slightly acidic. I in 20 years have never heard 5.5 as an acceptable level for nutrient solution. I can be persuaded with a credible source. It has to be research and not an opinion though.

Just goin with what the majority said. Like i said in the original post i first thought 6.7 was the prime ph. Its y im here asking. An while ur at it maybe u can help me on my other thread titled ( ph issues

Hello delatour....

I have an indoor hydro system, and my target for mixing fresh nutes is and has been 5.5 ph.......It start's there and rise's alittle each day until I change it again...This is in my reservior....

My buckets are between 5.6-6.2 ph......I guess if the ph rise's a little each day 5.5 works pretty good for me....The results from doing this is in my thread @ bottom of this post....

PS.... it never really stays at 5.5 for very long..............just my two cents........nitro

How about the manufacturers charts that suggest 5.6-7.0 for hydroponics........ There's a start I guess. A lot has changed in 25 years. We have color TV now.
