Could root lock do this ? Im using a dwc system with 2 1/2 g buckets. With air stones in each. My temp is 75-80f 30% RH. My water temp is 24-25c. My ph was 6.7 cuz i thought thaat was the right ph. I lowered it to 5.8 last night then dropped my meter in the res. Think i fried it lol. I use botanicare products but want a new feed.line if any one could post one. These plants r 6 weeks from seed. I have had this issue for over a week. It just keeps getting worse. I had a 1-3 mix of cal mag pro gro n liquid karma. But my nutes were realy old so i tossed them. Just the pro grow n liquid karma were olIMAG0029.jpgIMAG0030.jpgIMAG0031.jpgIMAG0032.jpgIMAG0033.jpgIMAG0034.jpgIMAG0035.jpgd.

Looks like magnesium. Though it could be mag was just locked out do to the high PH. 5.8 is ideal but I set mine at 5.5-5.6 then let it drift up to 6.0 before I add PH down to bring it back to my starting point.

How do your roots look? Just converted your water temp to Fahrenheit. It seems a little high to me but I don't do bubble ponics, I have a separate res and keep it at 65 deg F.

1. your water is too warm. cool down to 70 (20c max) or switch to a grow medium promptly (soil, soilless/coco).
2. you need to control pH between 5.6-6.0 like said above. Also you must know and maintain a proper and constant ppm level.

Set your nutrients ppm to around 800

THEN

Set your ph to 5.6.

(always in this order, by the way, nutrients then balance ph LAST!)

Keep an eye on the ph and ppm, they like to change as they drink and eat! :)

Lower your lights so they actually are useful, around 6" above those plants should be just fine

Dont forget your H2O2 and Cal-Mag, add per instructions on the bottles.

The old leaves wont ever look better, but if they get WORSE then you have more problems. Your new growth, aka new nodes and tops, should look nice new and green.

Hope this helps ask any questions you need that's what we're here for ;)

Thx i realy appreciate all the help. Just a few more questions tho. First off i had the lights real close but backed off since this issue started. I know you can hqve too much light so it was somthing i tried. H202 ?? Thats hydrogen peroxide correct ?? I use botanicare pro grow liquid karma n pro bloom. With cal mag sweet hygrozyme aqua sheild super thrive. Could someone give me or guide me to a good feeding chart. What order to mix . Etc..
My new growth looks great it was real droopy the other day before i changed the ph. She got better but the new growth still gets the brown spot,s that spread then become the disaster in the pic,s.

In Hydroponics we use 29% Liquid H2O2. Hydro stores sell it. Without it, your roots wont live for long. :)

Feeding charts are from your nutrient company. Google their name and they should have a chart!!

Remember CLOSE lights cause burning to the TOPS. Your problem is on the bottoms working their way up. That means its what your feeding em not where the sun is. :) :) Lower them lights back down so the tops arent warm but are close to the lights. 6" is a good starter.

I'm growing both of them right now, just started flowering our first Bubblelicious from the mother's clones a few days ago.......... Also have that Blue Mystic as the freebie seed, that'll be a few weeks later...........

And that aint root rot, the plants root systems are perfectly healthy looking. You just need to correct the ph/ppm and add cal-mag/h2o2. Nothing else you do right now matters other than what I just said in the last sentence. It will continue to get worse until they are dead and it will be allllllllll you to blame. ;)

I agree with researchkitty your roots look good, you probably have a Cal/Mag issue and should be adding 5ml/per gallon of Cal/Mag. I also think your PPM is way too low and your plant is sucking the nitrogen from older leaves to get energy and food.

Oh realy. Thats new to me. Plants can n will do that ?? I fugured they die before self mutilation. Hahaha so the roots on the 3 plant look ok. Its the same age as the other two. 6weeks from seed.

Yeah dude pretty much the same thing happens in late bloom, you will notice yellowing lower leaves dying off and falling off by themselves its the MJ plant saying " I dont need you anymore you dont have any food left for me, be gone with" .. So yeah I think you may have some cal mag issues and some Nitrogen deficiency thats why the new top growth is so nice and green, its using energy from the lower leaves to keep those new born leaves happy. I would also suggest you blacking out those white buckets.. DWC is super simple if you make it that way. I never used h202 or "bennies" in my DWC grows, why you ask? Because I kept my water cool always had it between 63-68 degrees. Cool waters and no light make DWC so easy. Try and keep the water cool and light out of the res and I guarantee you that you will have a successful grow.

Ya i planned on blacking out the buckets. I already have slight algea growth. Im gonna have a hard time keepi.g the water cool to that range.

The algae is natural from lights. It does that, dont worry. Just keep it clean (yours is spotless) and your fine. :) The roots may "look" a tiny bit tan-ish to you -- that's not root rot -- that is the nutrients in your water tinting it a little bit. If they were brown, you'd REALLY know they were brow, images.google.com search "marijuana root rot" and you'll see the differences immediately.

In a week you'll look at this thread and laugh. :)

While your here:

thepiratebay.org

Search term: marijuana - category: videos

Download everything that you see! :)

A few hours watching grow dvd's (that's what they are above!) will really help educate and improve everything........... If you've never used thepiratebay.org just download utorrent.com first, and then shit just works. :-)

Yeah you will be able to smell root rot. It will stink like smelly eggs. Use frozen water bottles to keep your res cool. I have a freezer full of them.

Thx ill take a look. I spent alot of time last year researching n asking. I also got the new addition grow bible. Uas alot of good stuff. I have a note book full of notes. But only haveing one grow. (2 plants) im still unsure. And the root rot was brought up cuz i read in another thread that slimey.roots are an indication of root rot hence my questioning. And im happy to hear it,s NOT root rot. The algea im not to worried about yet. The h202 kills algea and adds oxygen to water.
Question : you told me to mix nutes first then adjust ph. Say in three days my ph goes up .5. How should i go about lowering it. Can i just add ph down or should i mix a gallon of ph5 water n add that to the res ??
