Help me decide on LED

Hey All, first post here. Im looking to replace my HID system to save a little bit on the electric bill. My biggest reasons for doing so is because I do not have any a/c in my grow room so I want cooler temps. I also want something safe. Plugging in these old magnetic ballasts before i leave for work scares the hell outta me.
I want at least a 1000w HID replacement. Im trying to trade with people local to sidestep the huge price tag but I have no idea what brands are quality and what brands should be avoided at all costs.
I saw the Spectrum King 400+ and a SOL 9 900w 100w X 9led. The spectrum king has tons of videos and comparisons which makes them seem good also they claim to penetrate the canopy much deeper (this is extremely important right?) The SOL uses 100w leds as compared to others using a bunch of 3 or 5w leds, so does this mean the SOL can penetrate very well to?
Im looking in the 1000-2000$max range, is there a better option I should consider or a brand with well known results?
Edit. as a side note I would also like something with replaceable parts. If i buy a $2000 light and half the lights go out i need to replace them rather than buying a whole new unit.

Kind is supposed to be the shit and then you have platinum that's supposed to be real good and more affordable.

ViparSpectra 900 or 1200. Although I use 2 450ws to great effect. This is an economy priced, but solidly built LED system. If you have the money to drop on other more reputable systems, go where your confidence lies. But for the money, ViparSpectra is worth more than the small investment you make in it.

Kind is fuckin JUNK. With that KIND budget bro, buy a couple COB kits from timbergrowlights.com, they come pre assembled, and build a frame/frames for the pin heatsinks. Or wait a week or so and buy them from cobkits.com

Don't sell yourself short with all blurple bullshit.
Lol cobs!

I read a few posts that were reccomending cobs. which if im not mistaken is basicly just an led strip with a power supply. but these lights are 5watts. isnt that pathetic? shouldnt I just get some 500w leds and blast the light through the canopy? overkill is always not enough imo.
is the only advantage of cobs full spectrum light?

Driver, not power supply. And 5ws aren't pathetic. Check my grow journal. COBs are the most efficient lighting.

efficency is great and all, I dont mind saving some electric money. but im just thinking about maximizing light output and plant production and if i have to spend a little bit more to maintain im willing to.
The PAR output (photosyenthetic watts, right?) of the tasty leds was only 150w on their best model the t4-2100. what am i missing, how does that even come close to the ~2000 par output of the spectrum king or the SOL 9?

No, you're mistaken.

COB LED can be some of the best horticultural lighting going right now.

You clearly don't understand how PAR works. The wattage is irrelevant. It's micromols that are important.

The Tasty T1-2100 uses 78w and puts out 480 micromols at 24". A 400w HPS is usually about 120-128. One of my 450w LEDs by itself uses 206w and puts out 420 micromols at 24". Right now, my setup is more comparable to the 900w model.

Par watts and par readings are two different metrics. Par watts is the amount of energy that is converted into light. Par readings are spot measurements taken directly under the lamp at some specified height. A lamp would have to use much more than 2000 watts to produce 2000 par watts.

Tasty lamps provide 18-20 par watts per foot using the recommended footprints shown on the main page of the website. I could pack all the wattage into a small square lamp and advertise high par readings, but I don't because it's not really informative. Unfortunately there's no generally accepted standard for rating lamps, but if there was it would be PPF, which is listed on the website, along with lumens, par watts, and part numbers so the savvy can check my figures for themselves.

No one doubts you. He's just new here.

so this picture lists par readings as the same as micromols. right? I agree that the input wattage is irrelevant, i just meant that I would be okay with less effeciency if I gained an increase in light intensity.

I dont understand how your 450w, 420micromol light is better than this. It seems substantially worse.

Well. It isn't (substantially worse). I think most people here are as surprised as I am. But it did turn out to be a good buy instead of a goodbye.

However, I'm not stating ViparSpectra is better than anything, just that it's a light that can be bought with confidence in its workmanship.

Do not mess with all the ideas, numbers and parameters. I did once and advise you please you do not. Most of the quality led chips provide you ideal spectrums that is what you need. I made one by myself mixture of cobs and monos and it looks amazing for me but I have spent 3 months on forums changed the project million times. In my situation I havent got much money to spend actually no money that is why it took soo long but for 1000-2000 dollars you can do more than overkill !

Tell us the area of you have ? Do u want sing high powerful output like your old 1000w hid or smooth out all over the place ?
