I know its fuckin dumb n all, but I need to ask to be certain....

The air is flowing right? Didnt unplug a wire or hose somewhere.....?

the air pump is running 24/7, 1.2 watts per gallon.

Also the ec is 1.3

Ec is not an accurate way to measure the hardness of water and should be used purely as an outline.

In reality if your water is iron heavy the ec could be 4 and your meter could only be showing 1.

The best way to determine the EC of water is to see how well something floats in the water. The more something floats the harder the water is. You get very accurate tools to measure this.

Iron would definitely show on a reading as it's in te water in the form of a salt like ferrous sulphate which is the type of thing an EC meter reads. EC stands for Electrical Conductivity and any mineral salts in the water contribute to the reading.

Organic materials won't be read by the meter tho so readings of the nutes will be way low if using organics.

I use a PPM pen that is on the Hanna scale so an EC of 1.3 is 650ppm for me.

I'm not only talking about if it is able to measure it or not (dissolved solids vs dissolved gasses). I'm saying certain elements have different EC values. If my water has a ppm of 100mg vs a 100ppm iron on an EC meter they will have different EC values. The mg will read 0.1 while the iron for example could read 0.4 and vice versa. It is possible to be burning your plants by only having a lot of a certain element and its possible for the EC meter to be severely incorrect.

So the point I'm getting at is an EC meter measures the electrical conductivity of the water but not of the actual elements. It is a guesstimate....


If you are using an EC if 1.3 and you use a different nutrient brand and its formula is different, you may have to feed your plants an EC of 2.4 without starving your plants... Purely because it's possible the type of nutrients in the new brand are more conductive and will therefore show a "higher" reading but in actual fact it's not high atall.

Hey there, I had this SAME problem in hydro. Ideally you need to chill your resevoir. Make sure not to add too much phosphorus & potassium into your feed. (It's high in bloom feeds). Also feed gently and wait for signs of deficiency then work your way up. Add some hydrogen peroxide into your water and soak the roots throroughly in it. I just about saved mine after taking all the pebbles out the net pot, rinsing and planting into soil. (They're 5 weeks into flower now). Trust me soil beats hydro for easy maintenance. Hydro is great but so easy to fuck up.

Trust me. Put it in soil if you want it to survive. Root rot shows signs of deficiencies easily - my first ones were magnesium, iron and zinc.

Wow. Just wow. This shit has gotten so off the charts complicated.... Just trying to wrap my head around Porky101's understanding of solutions, and EC, and 19 different options...

This is an easy plant to grow, and most of the advice you are getting is just people thinking too much...

Hi there guys, the plant seems to be recovered and creating new roots, she was supposed to be in flowering at this moment, but i'm really happy that she stills in vegetative, she is creating new leaves and new roots, all the sisters are already in flowering.
The one affected was the upper right plant.
The one at the right bottom was really stressed from the beggining (first 3 days), I'm just keeping her to see her development in order to acquire more knowledge about the topic.
The two at the left are the ones which were not stressed.
They are 32 days old, autoflowering, think different from dutch passion.

I just added more nutrient solution to the one which was affected and keep the temperature at 20°C and wait, she recovered herself, ph 5,8 and 1,3 EC.

PD: the little ones at the middle are 3 days old, 3 kraken feminized from budha seed in soil.

that isn't mixed with nutrients, not even touching water, it's needed because I cant let any light came into the root zone.

Pull all your water out change with 0 ppm ro water see if they straighten up if not they look like they done for. also make sure to mix macro and micro in correct orders and rest between macros 5 minutes to let stabilize. looks like a bad resi change which caused lockout but what do I know I don't even grow anymore

Maybe high nutrient levels do some chemical shit to the water . High aluminum content .
Your gonna get ahlzeimers.
Looks like you had or have root rot at one time to.

Very good point and all so might be your issue . Out of order makes your nutrients separate and sink out .
