Harvesting.....after a few days i get this grassy smell

hi i been growing my plant for 3 n half months no maybe a lil less i decided to cut it down and i trimmed all the leafs nicely off....my bud smell good when it was on the plant but now that i cut the leafs all off and trimmed it down it seems to have this grassy weird smell like a green smell that sorta resembles cut grass....why does my weed smell like this iev heard people harvesting and smoking the next day or so but when i try to smoke one it tasted like i rolled up a plant or something it didnt taste like weed it had a grassy taste to it ???u no when u sometimes touch the buds or squeeze em a lil u get this grassy smell beside ur thc well my buds smell and taste like that now ?????sooooooo madddd

hydro or soil?

grass smell, mine smelled like hey when i quick dried it. its all how u cure it. Mine smelled like hay, hung them up for 2-3 days and then stuck them in a mason jar. the hey smell went away and this nice sweet musky smell came forth.

soil with plain water buds are nice with crystal just when i cut them down they have a weird grassey green smell thats swormed all over the buds is this because i freshly cut the leafs and lilttle trimmings on it....will it go back to a nice smell? and how long from benig cut shall i wait to roll one up?

Put the refer in a mason jar for about a day or two. That should bring the good old smell we all love back.

drying and curing is half of the whole thing..... very impotent as far as I have read....

that green taste is clorafil..... its the blood of the plant...... some people cut off big fan leafs 3 days to chop to help with the flush, thats what I also read...

hay usually cures out to fruity, and yes, it is normal for some plants to smell that way soon after chopping. most of the better strains will have a "ready" smell and taste after being freshly dried, and curing is not necessary.

cure for a week, the smell will change slowly but surely

Cannabis is supposed to smell like hay/grass after you cut it down, its the natural process of the plant dying off. You are killing a living being by cutting it out of the ground, and what you are smelling is the cells dying off and releasing their chemicals. The smell WILL stabilize after some time, but you can't rush it, you have to just be patient and let it do its thing. After it gets done drying (and that takes a mininum of 1 week) you have to cure it in the jars or airtight containers for at least two weeks before the hay smell starts to dissipate and it begins smelling like you want. Seriously don't skimp on the drying/curing process it's one of the most important steps and you're robbing yourself if you try to cut corners

so why am i getting this grassy smell with my strain 2 times ive had this strain and had the same problem i cut the leafs and trimmed my bud i let it dry for 4 days hanging it then i put it into a plastic contanier for a few days i open it up i still could smell that grassy smell and when i smoked it i could taste more of the clorafill green taste the the actual bud itself why is this.....when am i gonna get away from this smell and taste wut am i doing wrong here i follow all procedures....some people cut theres down dry it for 3 days n dont get that smell or taste and smoke it and its fine....im so stumped on this...sometimes when i cut a big bud open i get the good smell but i can still smell that grasey smell like its still undeveloped or w,e like its frshly been cut but i leave my buds flowering for 3 months sometimes just to make sure there done....i dun understand this smell errrrrrrrrrrrrrr so buggin me

um sounds like u harvested to early... i guess no one seen the 3 months or less part .. was it 12/12 from seed or what dude

actually he said 3.5 months which is 14 weeks which sounds plenty long enough to me

actually grassy smell sounds like undeveloped bud nuff said peace

or.... maybe ur strain is just garbage cus honestly i aint eva smoked or smelled bud like this.. i actually feel kinda bad takin all the time and effort to grow and bam.. ur smokin grass clippings lol.. throw it in a jar‚ cure it and be patient..

dont worry man, i have smoked weed that smells like grass, it will still get you baked, but it wont taste nice, it does sound like you harvested early, make sure you cure using a mason jar and burp every couple of days, the smell may go away
