Hanging Roots in DWC

Hey can somebody help me know what to do about hanging roots? They are long in the 5th week of my Auto 60 Day. Do I just give a good gap between me Net Pot, Roots and the water level so that the bubbles can pop up while leaving the long roots submerged?

Really how much gap between Bottom Net, Roots and Water should I have?

It's honestly personal opinion.
I've had my water level anywhere up to 4" under the net baskets.
When the roots were new and couldn't reach bottom I had the water level about 1 or 2" under.
As they grow and can hit the water at anytime, you can have the water at any level you want, as
long as the roots underwater are getting enough bubbles, and the bubbles that
burst on top of the water are misting the roots that are in air, which is very unlikely to not happen.

Methinks in a standalone DWC you should have the water level fairly high; place it an inch or two below the mesh pot and position the airstone to get as much spray-action off the popping bubbles as possible. I use a recirculating dwc so I have my plant in a 5 gallon bucket with a bubbler, but my bucket only has about 2 or 2.5 gallons in it. The drip from the top where the hydroton leaves the roots soaking from top to bottom, a humid environment, and LOTS of exposure to air. I thought at first maybe too much. but I have been very happy with the results. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. Between both opinions I have it right. Just needed to ask the helpful folks on here like yourselves.

Good Day
