OK, The newest of Newbs here with a few pictures of what I have going on. This is not what I plan on being a perm setup. I do however intend on continuing to use this room for this and future grows. I plan on somehow putting up a 150 watt HPS and using cfls. As of now I have 10 plants in VEG and being new to the game I am just trying to keep my head above water. Could you guys give me some input on if I gotta good thing going with this room? the ciling is about 8.5 feet...Hope you like my crapper =)

That's a really nice setup you got there.

I would definitely get a HID setup in there. Metal Halide 400 watt to veg, and then 400 watt HPS for flowering.

I notice your plants are stretching due to the cfl bulbs not being close enough.

Also get a oscillating fan in there to blow directly on the plants to make those branches more stronger.

Hope the advice helps

One final thought. If you do go with a 400 watt HID system, you can always use the cfls for side lighting when they get tall

Thank you very much. I appreciate that. Yea, I actually have two Lasko Fresh Air Ionizer Model 4822 Oscilating Tower Fans that I h ave always used. Yea, they are stretched. Any clue how I should put up my 150 watt hps I have sitting here now? I realize I need more watts for hps, but I gotta make do with what I got now. I think Ima throw them in 12/12 starting today so I can "weed" out the male and female before I hook up the HPS. Any other suggestions as far as the venting and stuff for this bathroom grow would be very much appreciated. Thanks again brother and keep on growing.

Putting up the hps? No problem. Get yourself a "tension rod" its a rod you use to put up curtains. Shouldnt cost you more than $15 bucks (I got a heavy duty one that cost me about $8 ). It expands and you should be able to put up your lamp anywhere in that space. Make sure you get a heavy duty one though. Not the thin shitty ones. This is what I am talking about:

Wow, this is the perfect example of how someone like myself can over complicate things. I am going out to buy one now. Thanks man.

STOPPP EVERYTHING BUDDIE!!!!
YOU HAVE THE ONLY FREAKING FIRE HAZARD IVE EVER SEEN ON THIS
SITE. WAY TOO MUCH GOING ON IN THE BATHROOM, CORDS, TABLES IN TUB,
FANS, LIGHTS....
Im glad I asked you to post pics so we can see what you have. Your grow is wrong
for cfls, your space is too big, cfls are best for small enclosed spaces, cabs, closet,
tote bins... To funk out a bathroom you need hids, for what your doing you need
at least a 600 hps/mh ballast. Order one cuz I know you got the cash and so do you:)
Return all those bulbs and youll almost break even. You may wanna keep a few for
what your going to do next by keeping a mother and veg cab or area;)
I only recommend that advice to maximize your potential one I wish I could have,
but given my space I cant but I can live through yours lol.
Life is about simplicity for the most part and so should
be this hobby of ours, dont make it complicated with all kinda things going on in your space.

Anyways back to the grow at hand, I see a problem with your room being light proof, how do
you block the light that escapes under the bathroom door, this will be an issue for security purposes
and for the flowering hour. We need to come up with a stealthy solution for that guys.

By the way, Im glad your growing your own ish, I grow even though I dont smoke anymore, since a kid
ive always wanted my very own mj plant, now that im grown ive made it happen and like you I plan to continue
this hobby of mine, I love that I made this happen feeling I get when I harvest, but then I give it all away and
am forced to do it all over;)-

LOL. I hear ya. The pictures are very misleading. The table is secured where it can't fall. The powerstrip is actually sitting on something so water can't get in it and it is tilted where the water runs the other way, BUT YOU ARE RIGHT...shouldn't be that way. I wasn't going to leave it like this. This was something I did after moving it from another room and just needed to get lights on the plants ASAP. I am working on a solution to make it more safe/fireproof. APPRECIATE THE OBSERVATION AND TIPS NONETHELESS, and I mean that. See here is the problem man. Out of all those plants, I really don't know how many females I will have yet...so, I mean for all I know, I will get 2 or maybe NONE after all the stress I put them through when I was first starting...One thing is certain, Durban Poison and whatever this mystery strain is are TOUGH AS HELL...If I told you what these plants went through when I first started you would be amazed they made it this far (which sucks to say as Im sure they are hermie or male by now =/ ). I have a 150 watt hps (yea i know that is weak) that I will begin to use for a 12/12 light cycle to get them to sex. See, I was an idiot germinating all those seeds. I just didn't know wtf I was getting into. If I could go back, I would have only germinated 2. I am just growing for personal use. I just got in over my head...so, investing in the 600 watt hps/halide light is mighty tempting, but it just isn't something I'm going to do. Trust me, I have had my credit card out ready to order one (just last night in fact) but after thinking it over, I'm not allowing myself. Damn, as I just said that, I thought about buying it..hahahaha. I just never planned to have this many plants "vegging" like this. So, the way I see it, all those cfls and cfl light clamps and 150 watt hps will come in handy later when I finally get my females picked out and fix up that tub to be a neat little grow box...I had intended to section it off just as you see it, but obviously securing it more and sectioning it off better. As far as the light coming in from door, I keep the hall pitch black and I have a towell there now...when i stood in there a moment ago to put it in its dark cycle for the day (switched from 24/7 to 18/6 few days ago...gradually did it) it was pitch black..i even taped the lights on the fresh air ionizer lasko fans. But you are right..I definately need to work this out better. Don't call anybody on me!!!!! lolol. Thanks bro. Stay tuned and I am thankful for the advice my friend.

I just bought two of them as I wasn't sure what size to get...but, an extra one will be handy, I am sure. Can't wait to try them out.

I've never seen a plant stretch so bad lol are u growing under incandencents?
They have been grown under all kinds of lights...lol. I didn't know what I was doing when I started...they have been under indandescents, 150 watt hps, cfl, flouros, you name it. They have been moved around yada yada...I'm just now starting to learn more and more. Yea, they are stretched but last few days wow...they are getting pretty. Strong stems too cause I keep several lasko tower fans (fresh air ionizers) blowing. The incandescents were supposedly "good lights" according to the marking of them..lol. Suckers like me see "plant lights" and think "gee, this is the shizzle!" wrong...

Dude lol get that light away from the side of the sink. Blocked drain = overflow = fires, electric shock or death. I dunno what kind of circuit protection you use in the states but you would wanna make sure they are working 100%

Yea, I am off work and I have off tomorrow. I am going to work all night till I get things squared away. Still haven't started off in the 12/12 cycle yet cause things have kept popping up and I have to redo lights and move rooms...I have decided to use my own bedroom bathroom for the grow, rather than the guest bathroom. Guest bathroom is too close to the stairs...at least with my grow you have to go into my bedroom....bathroom is bigger too and has two sinks. Wish me luck..Oh, I am also moving my pc setup into the bedroom so I can constantly be with my babies...LOL. I here it helps to be near plants cause of the carbon dioxide. Well, here goes!!!!!! Oh, yea, that guy named jesus was definately trying to be a douche, but will probably come back with "I wasn't being an ass" ....but, i mean, eh....he was. Oh well. Life goes on!
