10 acres in Muskoka...is it secluded?
Well yes and no. I'm not in the fancy area with all the cottages. I'm more in a rural section with local residents. But on a dead end plowed road. I get all the local workers up my road. Even though I can be there for a week and see maybe one or two cars all week. It would suck for growing outdoors their. I've never even tried. The deer or rabbits or whatever would demo them. Would need to be their like Sargent Schulz protecting them night and day...no thanks.
Not near water either so camping is pretty boring imo. I use it as a getaway to clear my mind ???
We use it for relaxing, ATV, shooting, hanging out. of for fun. Lots of hunters in the area. I have a nice chunk cleared and a building to stay in. Just no running water but hydro anyway. So I even get a hydro reader guy coming around.

Ya the usual sandy piney debris stuff. I've got a good open area but it wide open to the road in front of me sorta. Somebody lived there once. I bet the dirt is shit to grow in. I dunno...never gonna bother trying. If I was there full time some auto flower might work. But not worth the bugs to me.

Why not try and rent a group camping /trailer area....
these are usually available at some provincial parks....
I'm close to a handful in the kawartha's.

I did alot of growing around the trent severn...its tough to find a couple feet of top soil
the area's around gamebridge and bolsover...on the trent (sod farms) have a hugely thick soil horizon layer....most places its up to 18" to 2' plus....some of the best growing in Ontario.
However it also has a fair amount of helicopter traffic.

That could be doable and sounds like fun. Meet some folks and camp a couple nights. Only issue...once you try and arrange it, nobody will be able to do the same weekend.
What you have to do it set it as late as possible and have a lot of patience trying to gt commitments. Seen it before...folks hate to commit. They love to talk, but hate to actually commit. No offense to anyone...just sayin.

My sister has a cottage close to Minett.
I wonder how many people know where Minett is? I think theres a store lol. For some reason I almost always crash my truck at the bridge there (theres always hotties in bikinis is the reason)
My company works in Muskoka. It really is beautiful. I know the area well.

Did you find my patch? Jk. Thats were I guerilla farmed for 25 years.
Hippy talked about the deer and bunnys
I had a beaver dam the creek and flood my whole crop. Im talkin 1 foot of water. Killed everything
I had a forrest fire burn a crop (spark from a train)
I had a beaver chop a couple plants and jam them in his beaver dam for support
Anybody wonder why I trap? I should right a book. Couldnt count the number of choppers we hid from over the years.

Yup love it north of Barrie almost everywhere...unless it's June/July....bugs plus. I don't bother going then. I got 10 acres in Muskoka that I use for 3 seasons. No not a big rich cottage....more Hippy style. I don't go in winter since I sold my sled.
Maybe we need a communal RUI greenhouse up there. Wouldn't that be cool if you rent greenhouse space with other members to grow your own. Only trouble were all too far apart...fun thought though. Pay a dude to tend it. Oh well back to other half of my doob.
that's a good idea. set up a place with the rooms, all equipment it them & even have a pro grower to ask questions. like a storage place but for our gardens

LOL..fuckn beaver! I hear ya Doobius. I dont think deer like eating buds but they love the fans. Just my experience.
My parents use to own a cottage on the last stretch of the Trent before Georgian Bay.
We started a compost pile with the intent to use the compost for growing but the black bears were always digging through it.
