Do you take measurements? If so, you can use Herb.IQ to keep track of all things grow-related, and encrypt it to a solid standard as well. Software was written by one of RIU's own :D Back in just a lil' bit!
Thanks i'll make sure to check it out once i get it. I will be taking measurements of PPM if thats what your asking? at the moment i have no way to test it. when i water tomoro i might get distilled water and use that untill i can measure. he said he keeps it at 350-400 and i should keep it around that because they like it. So hopefully the distilled water will at least be better than my tap water.

^^depends on where you live but where im at the tap water will kill my plants. I always use reverse osmosis water. the tap water here is like 350ppm

I'll have to read up on the reverse osmosis water. I've seen it in passing while i've been reading but don't really know what it is.
Depending on the reading i get for ppm what are ways to raise or lower it?

Quick update:
Fed the ladies today, i mixed half the reccomended dosage of sensi a and b, and b-52. mixed nutes in water in 1gal watering bucket that fed 2 plants, then used another gallon of straight ph'd water. did this twice(4 plants). The clones I got before that weren't doing so good, i replanted them in battco soil, and fed nutes as it says in week 1 on Advanced Nutrients chart. They're deffinitely looking better and even have some new green growth on them. I thought they were a lost cause but figured since I'm new, I'll play around and see what I get. Even if i get half OZ of each plant it'd be better than nothin!
Anyways here they are enjoy.

It's a membrane filtration process that removes a ton of crap from water.. few diagrams/pics to explain:

here's a setup of a 5-stage RO for the home, should you wish to implement at the home/house level:

cool thanks for the detailed diagrams. not sure if i can implement this system in my apartment, but doesnt seem to over complicated.
quick question... when I'm watering, should i stop once water starts escaping through the drain holes? or is that over watering. when i just fed and watered i fed 2 plants w/ nute and ph balanced water, then ran another gal of just ph bal water for the 2 again. no drainage, so thats why i'm asking.

That's a bit much if it's running out drain holes for a soil grow.

no i didn't go that much water. Like i said with my first set of clones i had i overwatered them so i've been real careful with the amount of water i give them now!
I was just making sure i didn't underwater them and it wasn't supposed to come out of the drain holes. thanks for the speedy response too Figong!

Heres some lady purp clones i picked up 2 weeks ago. I thought they died, but i got all stoned the other day and had the genious idea to transplant them into the new baccto soil i just got. Transplanted and fed and watered them and let them sit for a couple days. Theres starting to be some good new green growth that i'm excited about!

Nice nice, and that should teach you 1 thing, if nothing else.. some of the most creative fixes.. or horrendous disasters related to plant fixes can come when you're stoned off your ass.

I did some more LST training on the ladies today. They're coming along quite nicely I think.
One thing I liked on a journal when i was looking and researching all I could before this, was the pictures. So I'm going to try and update w/ pics every other couple days.
Anyways, enjoy :leaf:

also, just for shits n pringles, i hooked up my 600watt hps along the T5 to get these girls growing a little quicker. should i not do this, because it'd cause stretching, or am i cool?

Would say it's definitely a good idea in terms of veg.. as long as you're not trying anything erratic, like 14/10 or something close to 12/12 - if you are.. you may not like what results given the red that'd be thrown. All things the same, normal 18/6 veg should be just fine and I can't wait to see how it turns out. :D

I'm going 24/7 with the T5's. I have to figure out a better way to cool the tent down. temps slowly rose to 85 before i went to sleep. I took the 600w out of the tent and it's back to just the t5.
Also, my stems are COMPLETELY red/pink/purplish. From what i've been told as long as theirs new healthy growth i shouldn't worry. but I've never seen a plant w/ every stem purple.

Those stem colors are generally indicative of a temp issue, or -every- plant is off trace-wise.. just natures way of saying things aren't 100% optimal for it and I agree, if there's healthy growth with no other symptoms just relax and enjoy the new color scheme. :)

temps haven't gotten lower than 68, but for the past 3 or 4 days they've stayed from 72-83. fan is circulating plants, that may play a role.
but like you said, no other symptoms maybe it's how it's supposed to be :)

well, i think i found out why I'd have a temp issue, coloring the stems. When i fingered the shit out of my soil i found it to be kind of cold, not really moist.
What I'm thinking is taking some of the leftover cardboard i have from buying everything and place it under the pots, so the pot isn't directly on the floor of my tent. Would this even make sense? or would the heat, or lack of, transfer to the floor>cardboard>pot?
If anyone else has a better idea please let me know. for now I'm going w/ the cardboard since i can at least try right?:weed:

Yes, and if the floor has a concrete layer, put the ladies on small concrete blocks as well to help with that.. the smaller blocks are much easier to keep at a room temp if off the direct in-ground concrete (assuming basement-type setup)

actually my tents on carpet, I'm doing this in my apartment.
Quick little update too.
I tried something yesterday, blowing my intake fans cold air into the rotating fan. Temps stayed between 68-74 the whole night.
I watered the 2 front ladies, and have another gallon ready to water the back 2 tomoro.
PH was 6, PPM 421
I think i'm done LST'ing and I'm going to start letting them grow vertical now.
Take a gander and let me know how everything looks.
Enjoy:bigjoint:
