and if a chicken and a half, can lay an egg and a half in a day and half, how long will it take a short toed monkey to kick the seeds out of a rotten cantalope? huh?

Not one single thing.
Love conquers all!
And forgivness is like water on dry ground.
And a friendship is far more valuable than gold and all the weath of the world!

and trying for the whole world to practise these ideals (which i agree with) is like pushing custard up a hill with a stick

So, all we can do is control our responces in each and every situation- trying to do what is right in light of the Laws of Nature and Natures God.

Haul me to Heaven ~ where is heaven? What goes to heaven when you die?

The body & mind die once our heart stops beating, so what goes to heaven?

The Spirit/Energy, but that doesn't have a conscious, so how can it know where it's at?

So please answer these basic questions to your religion.

It doesn't matter the sect of Christianity or Islam ... they are both cult based.

Hence the overwhelmingly unstable world events which unfold each year. There are two mindsets battling for world spiritual domination.

Different methodologies (Islam is 500 years behind Christianity), but the goals are identical.

They are both cults, and both wrong.

Here's a question for those on both sides of this discussion: What, if anything, does the rituals of any organized religion have to do with the Spirit of a Loving God touching the heart of an individual?
Ignorance on both sides of the issue is at fault for the misunderstandings. To understand middle eastern culture you should know about Islam. The Prophet Muhammed had claimed that the Archangel Gabriel gave him permision to take up sword against the Meccans (pagans), but only after the muslims were forced into exile and they had their back to the wall did they fight back. After muslims made that initial act of defiance (violence), it became part of Islamic culture. But you must understand, for Muhammad (and most muslims) religion was not a private and individual matter but rather “the total response of his personality to the total situation in which he found himself. He was responding [not only]… to the religious and intellectual aspects of the situation but also to the economic, social, and political pressures to which contemporary Mecca was subject". Also understand that Islamic law is supreme in most muslim countries. Just like America takes pride in our freedom, Muslims feel strongly about God and the standards of their religion. The ironic thing about Islam is they believe that Jesus is Muslim and will return to kill the anti-christ (dajjal) which will then prove to Christians and Jews that he is a prophet of god.

I'm ex military and I would defend any American against a foriegn attack, it doesn't matter what race or creed you are. With that being said, we cannot reform everyone to feel as we do. They must fix themselves and learn from their histories mistakes just as we are.

Religion, like Communism, looks great on paper. It's when it is put into practice the wheels fall off.

And the blood spills... century after century.

perhaps it's time to simply grow up as a species?

The main problem with many religions, especially here, is that they all feel like they have the "true" religion and all others are false.

This is where the fighting starts: I'm right, you're wrong.

But since life is short and it's such a blessing just to be human, I tend to focus on the here & now, which is all we ever have.

Voltaire said, "If there were no God, man would invent one."
So is God an invention of man, or real? You can't have it both ways.

This thread is kind of like the pot calling the kettle black. We live in America, people do horrible things everyday for the all mighty dollar.
