Grandma's Growing Again

Welcome Noah!

Glad you enjoyed reading about my girl. Yeah that first plant was such a fluke and has worked out so well for me. I've got that reveg in my grow room now and two clones from that reveg.

As for my recipe, I'll get back to you on that. I will tell you that I started with Fox Farms Ocean Forest, reused...after my first grow, I pulled the plants out, sorted out the biggest root bits and tossed them, spread the soil out to dry and turned it for about a week, then "amended" it with:

bat guano
earthworm casings
bone meal
kelp meal
dried blood meal
marine cuisine (happy frog)
fruit & flower (happy frog)
Plant Success (endo/mychor)

I mixed up about 10 gallons, but then I worked out the measurements for a single gallon going forward.
Did you let the soil sit for a certain period of tine before using it?

Yeah I don't doubt the recipe of amendments would work in whatever u put it in. But its been used in coco. Was designed for coco because of reusing the coco. I thought u were being shitty by the tone of your response. If I was incorrect my bad.
No wasn't trying to be shitty, just read so many people try and say this or that is only for when a lot of people use it for both, also didn't know you gave blue the recipe, which I do like the recipe it sounds like a good solid mix, and I like the slower releasing fertilizer being added in peace of mind. Only thing idd add to that mix is dolamite lime just so ph stays steady and doesn't swing with waterings

We cool man. It's hard to judge someone's tone at times. I felt the same way about the dolomite. But my boy I got the recipe from said they found it wasn't necessary. I just got done with my second run and noticed no ph issues. Not sayin you couldn't add it. But I don't with my conditions. Im going to have to look but maybe one of the amendments already has some lime in it?I use r/o water which is huge with a living soil kinda mix

Ahh you stole my lighter! haha got the same one. So that's the infamous girl who traveled across the country clinging to life! You did a good job reviving her. So not sure you seen I came in blue, didn't get a hello. So just encase, HELLO BLUE! I made it!
Sorry Kratose. I've had computer problems and have only been able to get online for like 10 mintues at a time once every couple of hours. Makes if VERY difficult to keep up... LOL I did see your previous entry, and I meant to welcome you, but my computer glitched and by the time I got booted back up... old age kicked in and I forgot...

Same goes to anybody else who has joined the thread. Everyone is welcome! I'm glad you're all here and if I didn't say so, I apologize! LOL

Yes, I did. After I got it all mixed up, I let it "rest" for 24 hours. Then I transplanted my clones, sprinkling a little "Plant Success" on the roots and let it all sit and stew another 24 hours then watered them. They are doing great!

damn this some good mix wish i could get me hands on some mix liek dat but cant find any shops and aint gunna order ;(
As Karma said, that's the beauty of this recipe. Everything was easy to find and was really not terribly expensive when you consider some of the prices of the other lines of products. I got enough of everything except base soil (because I intend to get coco for the next round) for probably a hundred gallons of mix.

Great Job GrandMA!
Thank you! I am super jazzed about this grow. A huge thanks to Karma's a Bitch for the recipe. I think this is going to be a good experience for me.

For the record, I am not using r/o water (yet) but I do allow my water to sit out for 24 hours before using it, it is community well water and I pH it to 6.5 going in. My meter reads 6.3 coming out so I am not too worried about my water for now.

And while we're on the subject. I have completed my annual accounting to the government and now Uncle Sam is kindly returning a significant portion of the monies he so rudely removed from my paychecks. (I'm getting a tax return). With said minor windfall, I have purchased a 600w light and a set of bubble bags! Woot!

Yippee! Stuff will be delivered next week. I love new stuff...

I like your mix granny but still think you should add dolamite lime in there 1cup per cuft of soil especially with reused dirt it will help ph a bunch
I wouldn't mix a batch of soil without dolomite.... ca$hcropper is steering you in the right direction for sure. Keeps your soil PH steady.

The auto....lol. Well, I have never flowered under a T-5 light before, so I don't know if it would have been better under MH or HPS but the yield on one the auto was sad. 14 grams total....I have never had such bad results. It wasn't a very big plant but looked better than it was. Too fluffy!

Still haven't tried it, I am going to let it start the cure...will keep you posted.

Enjoying some of my last Laughing Buddha right now, couldn't get the darn plant to clone.....but liked it so much I picked up another bean :-)

Hope all is going well Bluejeans!!

edit... yeah, the Buddha got the best of me....I skipped right over the new light news!! NOW you are going to be really groovi'n grandma!! Congrats!!

I just took a clone at harvest time. Stuck it in dirt under 19/5 with a dome on it and a 72 temp.

Any other tips? Heres one for you. I just found out how to read almost any book free online. Just type PDF with the book. I am going read The Postman. Book is suppose to be great

Hey MomaPug! Wow, that's about the closest we've been to being on at the same time. And yeah, I'm so jazzed about the new light I can hardly breathe. I also got bubble bags and a keif press! Woohoo!!! I'm gonna be playing hash hockey in NO time! LOL

Despite the urgings to add dolomite lime, I'm going to run this recipe as given at least this first time. My pH doesn't seem to be any problem and since others are running the same recipe without it, I'm gonna give it try unaltered. That's generally the way I cook too... If it's something new to me, I follow the recipe the first time, then I feel free to make alterations to my personal needs/likes.

I'm hoping my new light shows up next week so my two biggest plants will have their last two weeks before harvest under the big sun.

Okay, I gotta brag!!!!

My son had some of my weed with him (NLB) when he got together with several of his friends. They all claimed to have dank so they decided to compare.

First they each picked out their best nug outta their bag. Mine won on bag appeal.

They started passing the bags around and mine won on smell.

Then they all packed a bowl and started passing them around...mine won on taste.

Feeling pretty good about that now... LOL

I have EZPDFReader on my Android phone so not only can I read any book in PDF form, but I can carry an entire library in my pocket! LOL

Bluejeans wait till u see the organic goodness. Prepare to be blown out the water.
I am SO excited! Got a quick question...does this stuff continue to feed through the whole grow or will I need to top dress at some point? I sure can't argue with visible daily growth.

Well, on that one, it was hard to tell...cuz, well, they all got high... and nobody remembered. All in all, son said it was all good stuff, but everybody was really impressed by what he brought to the table. Since they were passing the bowls around doing the taste test, the high just sorta happened... LOL
