My advice if you hear from them again, be polite because the last thing you want is for them to take offense and make a hobby of harassing you, but keep in mind you're free & clear by the book..
Just thank them for the call, and say that if you learn anything that should rightfully be reported that you will call them personally.. Don't speak to them about 'anything'! If you incriminate yourself on any matter then everything I've said so far is null/void.. And DRILL this into your slow friend's head!! If they do end up going for further incrimination you can be damn sure they'll try to get you both involved..
They may even be decent cops.. They did let you avoid a bigass legal mess, and you can't really blame them for wanting intel.. Maybe some punk will go for their story and give them something that should righteously be stopped and makes their career so they don't need to lie to kids anymore..
actually sir that is outright horrible advice, and plain untrue...... i dont know where you are getting your legal advice but you should find a new source, my source is having passed my LSAT the first semester of this year as well as part time paralegal work for friends of my dad right when i turned 18. there is a thing called statute of limitations my friend and in the state i live in which has fairly liberal weed laws the statute is six months, so to the person who started this thread i would wait until they contact you and then lie to them, the only person who has sold you pot you met at the skate park or some shit and then give them a phone number to a disconnected trac phone or just someone you dont like. either way the cop can charge you for as long as your state will allow...... no offense borntokillspam...Choosing to rat or not is irrelevant.. Poor choice of words there.. Joker is right in the sense that the offense is still actionable in court.. I was refering to the aspect of incrimination..
