I have looked everywhere, but my friend found me this place that has decent to good prices on scales. Being the newb I am, I don't know good prices for a scale.

My friend, who works for a biomedical company, found what he said to be the best deal. Here is the link:

Top Line Digital Scales

A scale that goes from 0.1 grams all the way up to 250 grams is $19.99.
You can upgrade it so that it measures up to 500 grams for only $5 more.

Whichever one you get, you can get a second one for only $10 more.

So 2 for $29.99 of the 0.1g ---> 250g, or...
2 for $34.99 for the 0.1g ---> 500g

You can also get scales that go all the way down to 0.01g, or 0.001g.

Depends where you live but in georgia I'd jump on that deal (usually around 30 a piece). Find someone else who needs one and pay 15 each

Digital scales are like watches..they all work..whats a problems with them is the batteries..when weak they can give wrong readings..You don't need a mega $ buck scale for just weighing weed.. When I was a printer we used a basic cheap scale to mix ink colors & thousands of $'s of paper was in the mix, so if they were no good we'd be fucked.. you may find the cheaper ones that the battery drains quicker..... some don't..

Its a parafinaila (too high to spell) store where you can buy pipes and bongs and suck, if you have stores like this in your area, you can find one there no problem, otherwise walmart....

Re: Weak batteries causing false readings . . . drop a penny on there first, after your tray's (tare) been calculated into zero.
Should read 2.5gms. per U.S. Gov. website.
I suppose that'd mean you wouldn't need to buy the little penny-weight, at least for grams.

Sounds like a good deal but check the dimensions, it's tiny.
Probably work out OK but I like a larger weighing area.
I told my friend (who already placed an order for two of the scales I mentioned) about concerns about the surface area.

His reply was:

"that is irrelevant"
"you should use weight boats anyway"

i go ebay everytime. i bought a nice aws ( i dont know how it is where you live but every dealer and their mom has an aws ) that reads to .1g and up to 600 grams for 20 bucks on ebay shipping included. I was stuck one day without my scale and had to buy the same scale in a local head shop for 50 bucks.

i wouldnt go that way man. pennies has been known to have different materials in them each year because of the high cost of copper. use a nickel. a nickel is always 5 grams , worst case 4.9. a dry dollar bill will read out to a gram too

Good point. I have a scale for large quantities but it only goes down to 1gm. I think I'll get a small one for small quantities.

yeah it's good to just have around. go to a 7-11 on whatever convienience store is in your area and get one of the big fountain drink cups thats like 64oz. it makes it easy to weigh up a lot on a small scale

I bought a nice scale for $40. Down to .01g and is the best one I've owned. I talked the Colombian dude at the headshop down to 40 from 60. And to be honest, I would have paid $60 for it. Dish out the extra cash and it will last you longer and be more precise. It's worth it!

I've owned cheap scales before, and they are great for getting a rough ESTIMATE. Go for the .01g scales!

I appreciate your advice. Every penny I've ever weighed has hit exactly 2.5 grams. I believe that weight would only vary thru obvious wear and tear.
