I don't know what to do. There's a 70% chance of rain tomorrow night! First rain since June other than a sprinkle which accompanied the lightning-fire storm from hell in July. Highs will be in the low 70s and lows in the high 40s for the next week. On a side note..... We've had a low reading of 39 as well as many nights in the low 40s but my Sherbert aint showing no colors!
Dang, that is a dry summer. If I go 4 days without rain I'm cheering. {to the best of my knowledge, we have had 3 four day stretches with no rain this summer}

I meant to comment on Length of Day yesterday. Wednesday was my day closest to equal day and night. Now I'm down to 11 hours 56 minutes, with tomorrow being 1 minute 50 seconds shorter.

It's foggy out this morning. At 830 it's sunny, 73F with 99% humidity. Forecast high low of 91/72F with 20% chance of rain. {each day the big rain chance day is moved on more day out. So now tomorrow is 80%} 10 day high low of 91/69F with 3 days of possible rain. All of my older plants and a lot of the younger ones are in the barn, so now the rain is going to taper off.

I've had 1.5 since Wednesday or Thursday.

Have the fires slowed down? You are in Southern Oregon right?
Yes, most have been put out except those in the most hardest to get to mountains. The Klondike fire has been pegged at 163,000 acres and still growing every time there is a warm dry wind. Maybe a little rain will slow it but steady winter rains are needed to duose it. There have been cases where smoldering tree stumps have kept their fire over winter if the winter was too mild.

We haven't had a really bad fire season since '98. June of that year is when the fires chased Nascar out of Daytona.

I follow several PCT hikers on You Tube, and there was a crazy amount of trail closures due to fire this season. There are a few stragglers still in Washington, but they had better get a move on, or the snow will get to Canada before they do.

It's been sunny so far this morning. At 1100 it's fair, 87F with 72% humidity. Forecast high low of 89/71F with 50% chance of rain. 10 day high low of 90/68F with only 2 days of possible rain. The 60's are supposed to get here Wednesday night/Thursday morning. We will see if it's real or not.

LoD is 11 hours 54 minutes with tomorrow being 1 minute 50 seconds shorter.

I ran into a couple of thru hikers yesterday near the California border. They had made it to the Canadian border but were backing and filling the section they had to skip due to fires earlier. That's become a common practice.

Yep, lots of fire closures. Some try to go back and make up the missed part, but even if you don't it's still considered a thru hike. If you hiked all that was open to you at the time.

The PCT is getting more popular every year. Soon it will be as crowded as the AT.

boy the 1k felt good hung out for a while under it lol
I have yet to use a sleeping bag when camping since about May. I open all the windows, and still sweat most nights. Although I have had to pull a sheet up over me just before day the last few times. Soon I'll have to start using a bag.

I had been wondering about the haze in the air, when the Carr fire is basically done...
