As per the other threads and latest news releases. Its official. The 25 Mile Law will go into effect.

http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2012/11/glendale_medical-marijuana_dis.php

Our team just returned from a field inspection for a dispensary applicant in Glendale. There were no major deficiencies, and we awarded the dispensary an “approval to operate” late this afternoon. This is the first dispensary approval to operate we’ve issued in the State. By law, we’re not allowed to publicly disclose the address.

The fact that a dispensary is now licensed in the Valley also means that the “self-grow” part of the law will change on Friday. Beginning tomorrow we’ll be declining new “requests to cultivate” among new cardholders in most of the metro area… because self-grow (12 plants) is only allowed when the patient lives more than 25 miles from the nearest dispensary. The vast majority of the Valley is within 25 miles of this new dispensary.

We’re also adding a new feature to our website to help people figure out if they live within 25 miles of a dispensary. Because of the changes to the system, we’ just took the it offline. We’ll work on it over the weekend and most of the application process should be up and running on Monday.
I hope that this means it can now be challenged and our activists will fight it.

As a caregiver, I hope to hone my skills in and then possibly find that small sliver of land in this state that's out of the 25 miles. So I can continue this way of life.

I understand that. I was one of the smart one and renewed my card not too long ago. So I luckfully have some time. And can always find new friends/paitents wherever I go.

I renewed all my patients last month.

That place Arizona organix sounds like they have no fucking clue. They don't even have a cultivation site leased and they are approved to open? Where are they gonna get products because patients and even caregivers can't trade anything of value for medicine. They don't even sound like they know how to grow saying that it could take a few weeks to grow mature plants from seed. Wtf? These guys are as stupid as they seem and I don't see this going well for anyone but law enforcement and opposition to mmj.

No grow facility set up?
They are awarded an operating certificate w/ no source for meds?
So where in this equation are patients getting medicine from this operational dispensary?
Maybe they have caregivers giving freely...
I also thought the health department is responsible for ensuring meds are obtained legally...
Crazy and very strange, seems like the department wanted to give out that cert just to stop future home cultivation.
This makes me believe the dispensary is considered operation even if its shut down by the Feds.
Im sure the operational certificate has an expiration date, so until the date lapses, the department will say some bs that the facility is operational, regardless of any lawsuits filed against the non-profit.

Boycott this piece a shit place!!!!

Here we Go:

Store Rent: $1500-2000
Utilities: $800-1200
Employee salaries- 2 full time at 10 hour (with Obama Care haha) $4800 month
Security Guy- 16 hour-Outsource? $640 a week $2560 a month
miscellaneous expenses $1000
Approximately of $11,560 just to RUN THE PLACE A MONTH..... I wish somebody would have put into the law that "IF a dispensary fails to Remain open because of No medicine or Has Less than 99 plants in the cultivation site( 99 plant sets off the feds minimum sentencing law ; ) for more than 14 days that dispensary Non profit MMJ License will be revoked Immediately." That will Scare the living hell out this Dispensary owners and not one new dispensary would open and we would not have to deal with 25 mile crap.
Any suggestions.

Is there any info backing the claim that they do not have a cultivation facility?
Or could the department just be keeping it hush?

Just curious ...

There seriously needs to be clarification on the issue as to what defines a dispensary as In operation. See they will start denying cultivation but the dispensary is not open for business. This is an attack on home cultivation. Oh and btw not only do they not have a grow going but they don't even have a possible location.

I girlfriend works for the city of Glendale and she said Glendale requires the grow site to be separate location from the retail site. A restriction Glendale put forth hoping a dispensary will open in their city first ; )

That would be something we could sue for and get a judge to clarify..

I'm still completely dumbfounded about no cultivation facility. Is this really a fact, if so can some please provide info?

Could be some owners testing the word of Maricopa County officials.?.?

Also, patients are currently still purchasing from the black market, the law says a patient can donate excess medicine to a dispensary, if I am not mistaken. Who is to say some employee is not a patient just purchasing weight and donating it as excess? Obviously a terrible idea but supposedly without a grow op how do these people intend have to stock.
