giving defoliation during flower a try

Uncle Ben does know his info though.

But, there is little no no info about Marijuana for anyone to actually know the individual aspects of the species. I mean, some plants respond well to herbivory, so who knows. No one will know until there is peer reviewed studies about herbivory, pruning, any training of the plant, to know the benefits or complications of doing anything to the plant.

I think this thread has covered everything already.

Except, herbivory increasing some terpene profiles in other plants (no study obviously on mj).

People do some crazy shit to mj plants. They will still grow even if you take all the leaves off, or leave all the leaves on. It grows like a weed.

People get 3 pounds per light indoors lollipoping, pruning and training them.

They need some form of training, whatever works for the individual person is what works, weather it's the aspect of controlling ones environment, or if it's helping the plant grow the way you need them to, to max the yield. It doesn't matter really, science, folk lore. 3 pounds per 1000w light is 3 pounds per 1000w light. When people are getting that much, who really cares what they do to get it, the fact that they are getting 3+ per light is what matters.

Your just acting like a hot shot thats all. I appreciate your pics and info you share, but you don't have to act like your always right about things. We all do big grows like you do, we've all tested different styles that suit us. I love you
a lot, your just sending me mixed messages.
banter started off between me and uncle ben because he was dead against defoliation threads and would do everything he could to get them closed down.
I do get things wrong but i have been growing for a long time so i know all the basics when it comes to growing in soil under hps

never grown weed outside, but do grow lots of veg every year in my green house and only done a couple of hydro grows

most my experience has been on growing short well trainned plants and flowered them off under a 600w hps, don't pretend to know more than i do, no point this site will rip you apart, so i stick to what I know

Uncle Ben made no comment about the 7 reasons not to grow tall plants

he just makes out he knows more than everyone else, he knows a lot but not as much as he thinks he does

imo a tall plant is where you don't do much trainning and let the plants grow, any plants over 4ft I would call tall for an indoor plant

when you take the space needed for the filter, light and the space between the hood and the canopy, 5ft plants just not possible in most (small flower room)

say you have 600w hps, you need 14" to hang the hood/light, 18" space between the canopy and the hood, so if you have a 5ft plant you need 8 ft high ceillings

most growers i know don't have 8 ft ceillings

I did extremely defoliate and grow single stem untrained apart from stretching like the first pic I posted,

A good man I got talking to for other reasons than what I learned....

The point is he told me if I make the plant shorter it will benefit me allot more than that skimpy thing, and when to defoliate..

I took his advice on the second Painkiller and it's paying off rather nicely I would say because second plant with multiple tops was the good mans idea..

That's a practical grower like me and the kind man, meny others..

Theoretical is more likely the person who reads then does from books rather than a practical person..

Hope it helps

LOL i have done over 50 crops, you talk a lot but never see any of your cops

I thinned out 20% of the fan leaves in early flower to control the canopy growth
One page out of my life's book and you think you know who I am. Might want to do a search on my name, read my contribution in Jorge Cervantes' Bible, etc.

These kids......

Yes they do and one thing that's a given in pot forums, unlike other gardening forums I participate in, they will make growing this weed as complicating and confusing as they can.

I have about 6 defol threads bookmarked. Folks need to do a search AFTER reading a book on plant culture and processes.

And I'm under no obligation. Look....seasoned growers like me, HB, Riddle and others have pretty much given up on you guys, it just gets old repeating ourselves every time some new crop of newbies comes along and starts another dumbass defoliation thread or talks shit.

I gave you links, advised you to get educated and you refused to even have a look much less acting like a cocky little know-it-all. This is exactly what I mean. Pearls before swine....

Having said that, your 7 "reasons" were not worthy of comment.

Recommend revising or removing your sig-line as it's not relevant.

OK, I'm gonna rebut just this one.

"CO2 is heavier than air" and settles in grow rooms close to the floor. This means the roots are receiving much more CO2 than the leaves and flowers, when it should be the other way around
Wrong, unless you're not running fans and if you're not, you need to get on the ball. The roots are not receiving squat one way or the other either. They have their own mechanism for respiration, for air exchange.

Having said that, in the early days of the Canna corp. they were hawking CO2 tabs for "root health" to be placed into the soil. Such stupid shit in this biz......

I think you took time to read a book then answer.
On the net I could be van dam, or even the real Dexter lol .

If your the guy you say you are (wich I don't think imo) you wouldn't take all that time to rebate or what ever.
And you would understand the points that were given by both jacks and the other guy, and would have explained it in properly with good understanding.
And I don't really think you would be sat on your sad ass with a few books open to answer....
You would be out there with the real growers sharing a spliff and talking real shit instead of jumping on every single defoliation thread.
But that's just mho:bigjoint:
But hey I'm a freshman noobish shit grower so I don't think my opinion counts
