Just curious on the seaweed, I live very close to the beach and have the ability to grab tons of seaweed and kelp, is there certain kinds that are used for fertilizer?

So...no more Maine for you? Loved watching your guerilla techniques...but I bet seeing a back yard style from you will be interesting as well.

002.jpg006.jpg009.jpg010.jpg011.jpg012.jpg017.jpg016.jpg015.jpg019.jpgwow, only took 2 days to go from my pocket to sprouted and ready for the dirt today !!! we are doing 8 different strains we have been growing for awhile now . can't wait to see them perform here in ca. momma's been hard at work today and got the beans all planted under the manzanitta trees outside our yurt window , it truly is really peaceful on this here mountain don't get any better than this after years of serious hicking and swamp wading !! lol i'll take this for as long as i'm here.. as ya can see the table isn't far from me at all keep the babies close till they get a good hold on and i pick only the strongest looking ones for the crop

I collected about 100lbs, washed it in fresh water and layed in the sun to dry, then made a meal. Lot of work and got me less than 5 pounds of meal. 2013-04-20_21-17-31_224.jpg2013-04-21_11-18-00_299.jpg

i cold water extract my seaweed and its just time consuming not very hard except getting it.

I was told you can collect 50lbs a day w/o a permit or licence for harvesting
i don't know about that ,ya have a log book to make out in detail of what ya are doing and they call ya alot when ya miss what rock ,what beach etc you harvest at. but i'm harvesting 5 tons a day plus when i need to make a big batch of juice
