Greek yogurt is the bee's knees. A huge tub is even better. Everything's looking good though. Is the soil pre-ferted? If so it might just be stress from that. That's how my girl was the first week or so, but then shot the hell up lol.
Yes, it's delicious. Especially with granola :D

And yes, soil is pre ferted. I'm not sure wtf it is, this is why I always used unferted soil because there is more control and less guesswork! But thinking she'll be ok in a day or two.

Howdy, wishing you the best of luck, I have a quick question when you get the time. When you feed molasses is it OK to use other nutes as well? Also do you use Epsom salts for N?

Interested to see how this turns out. Trying to start my own stealth cab but its been a slow process.
Good luck and thanks for subbing, I understand completely about it being a slow process.

Hey Demon, I appreciate that. It is completely fine to use molasses with other nutes, in fact, it's necessary as it won't fertilize a plant by itself. If using chemical nutes it's a bit pointless though because chemicals will kill any beneficial bacteria in the soil. I've heard people say they use molasses for flowering to make buds more sweet, but am not too sure of the actual validity of that reasoning.

And epsom salts for N, definitely not. Epsom is magnesium sulfate and is commonly used to treat a mag deficiency.

*Edit: Or prevent Mag deficiency.

Fuuuuuuk....remember how I was saying I was sure that I didn't over water? Well, is looking like I probably did because plant is not only droopier with firm leaves, but she's stunted and showing yellowing from N deficiency...which happens when you over water :dunce:

I'm pissed at how easily that went wrong. Don't even want to take pics because she looks like chit. Trying to figure if the soil isn't properly suited for drainage (I usually make my own mixes full of perlite but thought I wouldn't have to make any adjustments to Ocean Forest), if she's picky or possibly just a weak seedling, or what...but I'm definitely leaving her alone for a few days and letting the soil dry out.

Whatever happens, I still have lots of seeds and am germinating two of a strain that I crossed last summer. If they don't pop for some reason and seedling goes further downhill, going to say eff it and drop a Gnomo or Cheese Auto. Been wanting to grow a ruderalis strain anyway!

is the fox farm line of nutes organic? In pretty sure it is but Labels can be misleading

We all make mistakes, we're human.

That being said, I always hear/read that people tend to add more perlite to FFoF soil, also heard that it tends to be too hot for seedlings.
I can't be sure though because I've not used it myself.

You could always hook me up with some beans from the cross you did, would not complain at all.:bigjoint:

I think that if you just let her do her thing for now, she should jump right back into the mix of things though.
Cheers

I want to say the bloom nutes are, but don't think Grow Big is. I made the mistake of using it for a while before realizing it wasn't truly organic.

Ended up going Neptune's Harvest for a while...their fish / seaweed ferts are awesome. Plants did very well with them.

I hear that it's too hot for seedlings too, but 9/10 out of 10 it's from someone who ferted at an early stage not realizing there was nutes in the soil. I probably should have cut with perlite for drainage though :(

Sucks that this is going to delay growth but meh, can't do anything now but be patient.

If I had more beans I would def send some your way but only have around 10 of the strain I crossed :p. The rest are ones and twos of various seeds from Attitude and Herbie's.

Am thinking the same as you (and hoping)...things will turn out alright if I leave her alone.

Thanks for coming by the grow Dawg :D

I have a feeling that some Crees will be finding their way in there mixed in with the CFLs :hump:

So last night / early this morning, I spent a lot of time working on the cab. I don't have proper tools so it took some creativity on my part. The 120mm, 74 cfm fan needed to be mounted and had no idea how to cut a hole out of the back at first...then I decided to drill around the the outline with a series of holes. It worked . I traced a small bowl that happened to be the size of the fan for an outline.

Then I decided to fit the cab in 100% Crees to see what the temps would be like.

Please ignore terrible paint job on the interior :p. Will more than likely be covering everything in mylar or white poly.

Anyway, I went to sleep for several hours, woke up and checked the temp inside and it was maybe 3 degrees higher than the room temp so 74 degrees F (23 C). I know that cannabis needs a temp of around 85 degrees to transpire so there will definitely be room for more bulbs and will probably even need to add CFLs.

I don't know if I'm going to keep my light setup the way it is now or if it will change, but I like using the extension cords because I can easily maneuver them to any part of the box and get them pretty close to the plants. Cree bulbs and CFLs both have more light emitted from the side, so maybe I can make a light 'halo' around my plants using the extension cords. I have the cord hanging from a hook that I screwed into the ceiling (have a whole package of hooks for future positioning).

I still have quite a few things to do...for one my cab is not light leak proof:

And the adapter for my fan is not good enough to let the fan operate at full power. The blades spin pretty slowly, so I'll probably invest in a proper adapter rather than the one I used which was found in the garage.

Last but not least, here are some pics of the stunted seedling:

As you can see, clearly Nitrogen deficiency from the nute lockout caused by over watering :dunce:. Still kicking myself for that :wall:. Her soil was bone dry today though, so I gave her the first watering of several days and made sure not to overdo it. She should resume growth within the next couple days.

The two Ramrella seeds I germed did pop though, and one of them is in the other container. Am going to begin the hunt around my house now for a container for the other. Plan on growing them both until they show sex...hoping for a female of course! Will probably switch to 12/12 after letting them veg for a week or two.

Oh, and you like my DIY keychain for the key to the front of the cab? :p

The lock came with a spare key so I taped it under a closet shelf in case I ever lose the other.

In a few days I'll have a fan to blow air around the interior, will light proof cab, and build a DIY carbon filter following this guide: https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/101248-best-diy-ez-walmart-carbon.html

Holy update batman!

I hope she starts up the growth for you again, though I'm sure that she will.

Good thinking about just drilling a series of holes for your fan, helluva lot cheaper than going out and buying a hole saw just to make a cut.

Liking the idea of the CREE's, are they 60w or 60w equivalents?(If equivalent, what are the actual watts per bulb?)

All in all loving the progress, though I half expected to see a dresser completely stealth'd out and whatnot. Though I have a fell that'll happen down the road.:weed:

Cheers

Yea, am pretty sure she will recover too. Even though she's stunted, she's still had some new growth come out.

To be honest I can't take full credit for the drilling for the fan idea because I saw someone make an off hand comment about it somewhere while I was on a reading binge lol.

The Crees are 9.5 actual watt, 60w equivalent, but from what I understand you don't need as many watts with LED, especially if it's high quality diodes (Crees are supposed to be one of the best). I will be adding more however, especially for flowering.

I expected the cab to be completely stealthed by now too :(.Been having some issues with my paycheck since starting a new job...am not getting all the money that I worked for right away so am having to do things at a much slower pace than I anticipated . It's only supposed to be for the first few paychecks, so I'll have to be patient. Like you said, it'll happen down the road!

I cannot stand that bullshit when you start a job and their all like, hey so you're gonna bust your ass but not get paid for it yet.

Makes me want to slit someone's throat with a soldering iron.

youre probably going to need some really thin flourescents like a t5 or t8,mount them to something thin like you said a piece of wood or metal. your box looks like you could fit about 4 or 5 short bulbs right in a row across the whole ceiling. my hydroponic store sells whats called a yo-yo, it has a hook and a fishing line type string that coils back into the case like a tape measure. it has a pin that pushes in to set the height of the light. the other part is the ballasts for the lamps youll have to custom wire them and mount them outside the box, preferably in the rear.this will keep the heat from the ballast outside of the grow space which will allow you to get the plants closer to the lights.
IMAG1222.jpgthis is a pic of one like you might build i routed the ballasts to a room above the light and put a computer fan on it to keep it cool.ballast.jpg
i had 3 bulbs at first but the 3rd ballast was no good so i cut one ballast and bulb out and it works fine for a mother plant or two. mine were 8 inch t8 bulbs i scavanged all the parts from a local industrial liquidation outlet for about 5 bucks total. and you will definitly benefit from a scrog setup, i live by it, and i use a bubbleponic system with dynagro nutrients. the bubbler system allows unrestricted root growth and likewise good bud growth in a nearly flat container

Thanks for the recommendation Kush, but all that sounds way too complicated and unnecessary for me. My wiring skills don't go beyond combining a pc fan's wires to an adapter currently lol. I've seen plenty of good PC grows and my cab is twice as big as a pc so with some LST and patience, I'm sure that I'll be ok. Plus, I much rather move towards primarily LEDs. Again, thank you though :)

Had a great day today! One of the reasons is because my two ramrella seeds have officially started day 1 above ground :D

And the second reason is because an amazing friend of mine, who is a grower, found out it'd been some time since I've been able to partake in any green, so they hooked a lady up :weed:

Best damn gift ever!

Is an organic / medically grown mix of 1960s strains Panama Red, Purple haze, LSD, and then more recent gentics Hazy OG, and Grinspoon. What a fukkin awesome friend!

Brb, vapin' all day on my next couple days off...which start tomorrow :hump:.

dang. I've only ever known one person who has panama red. he is in canada though so never got to try it... LSD is a great one too.. Grinspoon is potent as fuck but the tiniest buds ever and a bitch to grow..

nice score...

Lovely lookin cab there! Looks the business.

Subbed up and lookin forward to seeing how you get on with the EZ Walmart Scrubber.. I ghetto'd myself one of those things, I'm not 100% in love with it, but I guess it's better than nothing and'll do until I can afford a decent box and CF.

Have you thought about having the lights fixed to the ceiling of the box, and then just raise up the plants? That's what I'm doing and it's given me a lot more room for when I need it, whilst keeping things close in the early days. Plus I don't have to figure out some fancy getup for moving the lights.
