Fvcking Baby Boomer Hippies Wrecked America

It was proven through impeachment proceedings that President Nixon lied to his country. To people like Givens, the notion of agents posing as hippies in order to discredit the movement is not that hard to swallow.

My cousin was stabbed to death while waiting on a connecting flight here in SF from Vietnam on his way to DC. The war wasn't over for him and he liked hippies.

Nixon had his own brand of Bannon chaos. jmo.
Thanks for harshing on Nixon. His ramping up the drug war and gift to big banks via killing the gold standard are epic deviltry. Oh and Viet Nam. Yeah, fuck Nixon.

That does sound nice. But are these the same hippies who spit on soldiers coming home from war, calling them baby killers? Why not attack the politicians instead of the poor who were forced to go?
That's just bullshit.
Maybe ONE asshole did that, and the media picked up on it, but I understood the soldiers had NOTHING to do with the political motives of that fucked up war.
I had 3 friends that went to Nam, and ALL came back fucked up mentally, and it's pure shit that they weren't respected when they came home.
Don't believe all that you read.

Conscription or military draft is a euphemism for a form of slavery. It's wrapped up in a flag, but it is undeniably a form of forced labor and deeply contradictory.

. The hostility that veterans faced when coming home was abominable.
I was an anti-war activist, mainly because I didn't want to go fight and die for that load of shit, but all I know is that when the people that I knew came home, they were treated like a God by this hippie, because of their sacrifice. They were draftees, and had no say in the matter of their involvement in that POS "police action" in Vietnam.
I guess you lived in a fucked up town.

One? Lols. Now that is bullshit. I'm named after a man who never came home and have plenty of family that never came back right. I heard plenty of first hand stories.. why didn't you serve with your buddies?

for 30 years I never told anyone I was a Nam vet, they always treated you different. I came home late in 1970, at the end of the war & by then the war had become VERY unpopular and a hot political topic. Returning soldiers were not greeted with praise & respect, airport trashcans were full of discarded uniforms. I know because one of them was mine.

Luckily they had stopped sending troops over when I became eligible for the draft in 1973, and the draft ended.
I guess that I was just lucky that my number never came up.
Sorry for your losses, but I just don't know anyone that hated the troops.
Hated the war? Yes.
Hated the troops? No
They just got fucked over, and I understood that.

Honestly, some of the kids they let in that I had in my platoon in Iraq were fucked up as it is, not sure if I would want a conscript there. And honestly, everyone who is into the whole Alt left thing is just as much puppets as the Alt right, they are just getting played by different players, but they feel like they are so intellectually superior they don't even realize it.

I'm glad i served in a all volunteer military. I dont want anybody there next to me who doesnt want to be.

I'm sorry you were "there" wherever "there" was. I hold a noninterventionist mindset when it comes to military adventures and for the most part feel sorry for enlisted personnel who were duped into thinking blind obedience is somehow heroic.

Thanks for you service brother, it was, and still is appreciated by me.
I never had a problem with the soldiers, only with that cunt Nixon and his fellow cunt Kissinger, both of which should have been indicted for war crimes, and hanged, like for the indiscriminate use of napalm and Agent Orange on the civilian population, just to mention a few of their crimes against humanity.
Totally fucked up war, just like Afghanistan is today.
Hey, that's another wish I have for this New Year.
GET THE FUCK OUT OF AFGHANISTAN!!!
Too many dead Americans for that POS nation.

I never saw it. Plenty of people have the same story, though. Coming home, getting spit upon and criticized for participating. It was very unpopular war and veterans in that war weren't given due respect. Sometimes family of the men who were there weren't given the respect they deserved either. I think owning up to the fact that this happened is something that should be part of the dialogue.

I wasn't implying, nor do I think you were one of the offenders.

what's an alt left? Also it is naive to compare people who literally want to murder, kill and displace entire populations of US citizens in the US to people who oppose them.
