- and our coverage is already over 80%... So we could be paying less as a nation and have universal coverage

Canada is taxed up the ass for their socialized medicine. And why would a doctor over there have any incentive to be a more educated and better doctor than the next? Remember they are employees of the government.
Uhm, Canada doesn't have socialized medicine, that is the UK. They have socialized insurance. Canadian doctors do NOT work for the government, from the NYTimes:
Canadian physicians are not government employees. They retain a great deal of control over when, how and where they work. Instead of being paid salaries, most of them bill provincial governments on a fee-for-service basis. Canadian hospitals are also autonomous institutions that are generally, but not necessarily, governed by local health authorities.

OR we can be "free" to pay twice as much, for a lesser product, that's less available to the masses.

What's the lesser product? I would rather have the choice to choose who and where I go.
The U.S. healthcare system is vastly inferior by almost every measure, that is the lesser product... And you will still get to choose your shit with Obamacare, it just mandates that you must buy insurance and there isn't even a public option so wherever you get your insurance care it'll be through a private insurance company and our doctors remain in the private sector as well...

I wonder how many Conservative women are out there complaining about this just because a guy named Obama made it so. I can hear them now.

"That Obummer won't let me make co-pays when I get birth control. I have to get it for free now. That Muslim is taking away all my freedoms..........."

It's why I can only laugh.......

oh, you can be sure they'll be saying it. obama derangement syndrome.

those of us who have our issues with obama but who are willing to assess the situation with a rational mind will say "ya know, i don't like how he has bernanke and immelt and geithner in his cabinet, and i don't like this or that about his policies, but at least i can now even be insured despite my pre-existing condition and at least preventative care is now covered without co-pay"

No one gets anything for free, they are still going to pay for it through taxation. The Government cannot provide you with ANYTHING, they can only take it from someone else to give to you.

and skim a little off the top, right?

Right Drama, but I can still hear some women sitting in front of their Fox News TVs and stating exactly what I posted. Just look at what actual Republicna law makers are saying:

"If you applied that preventative medicine universally what you end up with is you've prevented a generation. Preventing babies from being born is not medicine. That's not -- that's not constructive to our culture and our civilization. If we let our birth rate get down below replacement rate we're a dying civilization," King said on the House floor on Monday night.

According to him, it is the end of the Human Race. You know those Fox folks will fall for it. "THE END OF CIVILIZATION"!!!!!

Good god........

Yep. I wouldn't equate that video with a Republican Congressman stating on the floor of the House that this will end civilization though. People actually voted for that guy. A lot of them.

Seriously.

To be fair to your earlier post ND, Government does play a vital role in ridistributution blah blah blah progressive taxation to prevent economic volatility blah blah blah spending multipliers...

Basically, it's really not that simple.

You are right there... but it should be. (and could be, with a little sanity)

birth control is preventative care. preventative care is now covered by law, as it should be. it only make sense.

pay a little now or a lot more later? you tell me which one is wiser.

"a stitch in time saves nine"
So is going to the gym to stay in physical shape. So is eating a healthy diet. So is not abusing drugs and/or alcohol.

So, are you going to espouse that we COLLECTIVELY pay for everyone's gym membership, daily nutritionist visits and a policeman in every house?

because someone else is paying for it UNVOLUNTARILY.

we all know you dont understand that your ability to earn an income is directly tied to the amont of liberty and freedom you have. we know that, and its that personal flaw that makes you happy when someone elses money/freedom is taken away.

in the old days we called it slavery and serfdom. now its known as progressive. dont worry buddy, your day is coming, as soon as you start trying to make an "honest" living and go on the books. and some govt derelict is there, inspecting, with the sole purpose of shutting you down.

cuz the more freedom the govt worker takes from you, the more promotions he is eligible for.

nope. no one is forced to buy insurance.

this own't change either. you will have the choice to insure yourself, pay a fine, or live in the woods.

but you know what? most people make the choice to live among society and buy insurance. because it is the smart and responsible thing to do.

i thought it was more due to work ethic, entrepreneurial ability, and other factors.

and i had no idea that limiting the freedom of others made me happy. you must be more privy to the ocntents of my own mind than i am :dunce:

in the old days we called it slavery and serfdom. now its known as progressive.
so, classifying birth control as preventative and an essential service thereby eliminating the co-pay is slavery?

everything is slavery to you guys as long as obama is in the white house. bunch of fucking loons you guys are.

hey, jenkins...i noticed you limited the freedom of 14 more people this quarter than last. congratulations! the corner office is yours, and you get a 12% raise!

LOL

Yep, and here we are again ... a progressive that doesn't understand that taking from one to give to another through government force is immoral. When its pointed out, all you can do Uncle Buckie, is to ridicule, demean and marginalize anyone that presents reason and logic to upset your illogical, nonsensical and inane positions.

What's with the Sarah Palin comment? Are you tired of talking about Bush ... finally?
