Fox Farm Ocean Forrest + Advanced Nutrients. Is it safe to mix?

Hello,

I just recently purchased the Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil, and as I'm aware, it is supposed to have nutrients already inside the soil. Does anyone have experience in mixing this soil with Advanced Nutrients products? Will the plant experience chemical burn, or lockout in anyway?

If you over do it with ANY nutrient line your plants can and will show signs of stress. With OF soil you should be good to go for awhile in the vegetative stage.

When you do begin using The AN, be sure to alternate between feeding one day and using plain water the next. Do this through out the grow!

I prefer and advise many who ask, to mix in some perlite or clean sand to 30-50% of the volume of the pot, this is to dilute some of the very effects and avoid any root compaction, that I've noticed in the past

Well I know giving any plant too much nutrients will harm them. It's not whether or not I am giving it too much nutes, it's whether it would be wise to even bother with my AN line until the start of flowering.

My medium is FFOF, perlite and Batch 64 (coco mix) I use the AN products and the ladies are loving it. I had 2 small clones move into the garden late and I ran out of batch 64, so they are in FFOF and perlit only. Again, loving it.

Awesome! Great to know! I will have to get some perlite to add to the mix.

The trick with mixing nutrients between brands is that you can overdo the nutrients. Personally, I've found it easier to stick with one brand and then you know how to mix everything so you don't overnute your grow.

I would suggest using a soil that doesn't already have nutrients in it, no matter what else you might be adding.
