Flood and drain question

I am new to hydroponics. I have a 2x4 flood table with a 50 gallon reservoir. Got everything setup and running. 4 days into it I noticed brown slime in res. Emptied res and cleaned everything with h202 res pumps air stones. Put everything back together. Fresh water. (Tap water ) nuts. And added some enzyme complete. 4 days later. I have brown slime again. Is this a common occurrence or am I doing something wrong. Nutrients are an grow micro bloom with b52 and voodoo juice. Not using voodoo juice with enzymes. Water temp never above 70. No light getting in res. Have 2 air stones in res. All plants look healthy and growing good. Any help much appreciated

Not a whole lot of experience but on my first grow a few months ago I was freaking out about some brown slime and turns out fox farm nutes are known for it. Never had anything bad come of it and it was there until the end. I don't know if the an line does the same or not though.

Thanks for the reply. Doesnt seem.to be hurting anything. I just make sure I empty and clean the res every week. Did you try using anything to prevent it. The guy at the hydro store recommended the enzyme complete. So i tried that with the same results

Any "zyme" product for hydro. Is a living product that simply "eats" the shed outer layers of the roots.

Your seeing the results of that and shed layers that are not yet "digested". (slime being the bio surrounding and digesting the shed).

Not a problem.....

Not like I'm there and can see this myself but, I suspect this is the thing your seeing.

I used zone as directed with the gold system and never had this. I did have major scales on the sides of tanks, pumps etc. always wondered if a zinc anode would have prevented it, dont give a chit now really, I pressure wash yearly, my tiny corner hydro funs

So when i added the enzymes last Saturday. The res had a foamy layer all week long. When I got home today. No foam what so ever.

Try using reverse osmosis water, along with an enzyme, like hygrozyme. Make sure to put enzymes in water first , then micro and stir in ,grow and stir it In , finish with bloom.

2 x 4 tray with a 50G rez... why 50G?

Most likely there's a volume equivalency chart , or do a test to see how many gallons it takes to properly flood the table, then ~ double it for head room

Do you have a lid on the rez to keep light out?

Do you have pump with a riser in the rez (on a timer) to create a water fall?

B-52 is what's giving you the brown slime, and partly the micro. I stopped using b-52 and the other additives and my brown stuff went away for the most part. I just use GMB and Z7. No water cooler, I change Rez every week or two and there's a bit of brown slime on the root ball/air stone/lines that washes off and hasn't done any harm
