Thats either calcium or nutrient salts left over from evaporation....nothing to worry about.

But like 2faded247 mentioned, you dont want that RW cube soaked.
This kinda looks like you brought your water level too high. Your rock wool looks soaked. Salts due to over parts per million have collected on hydroton aswell as organic activity....maybe. Lol

What is the best way to keep res temps in check?
Use dirt if your worried about your res temps. IMPO if your pre testing...ph of tap!,temp of res, ppm of tap,....sucks, if it isnt optimal. Just stick with dirt. Or dont grow trees. If you want to do it despite all logic then go for an eighteen inch flip or somthing shorter. Maybe more if youve been toying for a while or your confident. Good luck.

So still tryin to get my RDWC put together. I wanted to start germin my other Auto Purple, my Humboldt, and my AK-48, but I gotta make sure this system is running at 100% first. Patience....In other news, my bagseed mother is FINALLY showing sex, quite obviously in 1 day. Also started a little LST cause why not? Auto Purple is still gettin frosty and still maturing a little. Still harvesting little by little. Got some trich shots with the microscope through my iPod. Not the best quality, but it gets the job done. :)

Looking good! Im sure after I do one run in the 5 gallon buckets, I will go with an RDWC. After a ton of reading and actually thinking about changing water once a week on 4 different buckets, it only makes sense. Hey, we can only make it easier on ourselves and patience IS the name of the game! Ttyl brother! Stay medicated!

I harvested my Auto Purple!!! :D :D :D She was beautiful all the way to the end. I have buds hanging all over the tent. Ill get pictures up tomorrow and I'll get the dry weight and smoke report up later. In other news, my seeds for AK-48, Auto Purple, and Humboldt were put to germ in the paper towel method when I harvested and the Auto Purple and Humboldt already popped. Ill post a link to that grow once i start it. Haha

As the title states, just some harvest pics for you guys. Also, the total weight came out to about 3.5 ounces. I'm pretty proud of that, since it flowered for a few weeks under CFLs. I will be posting a smoke report in a couple weeks or so, and will be starting a new grow thread in the next few days, since I'm planting my beans tonight.

It came out to 3.3 ounces when I chopped it, not including all the buds I harvested before. All together, I'd say about 3.5 oz. I'm probably low-balling how much I harvested before, but oh well.

Too bad the SWD didn't turn out for you. It is some potent smoke. my first DWC attempt was with that strain. here was the final result. 3oz dry weight. the smell was out of this world and everything was covered in crystals. even huge fan leaves.
