Now they look so much happier...now before addressing any nutrient issues, give them about 3-4 days to, 1. get over the small shock of transplanting and 2. to get used to their much better home, you may find the problem will correct itself now that your plants have room to grow, enough light and you added a fan so now they have air.

GOOD WORK!!!!

How close are they to the light now and get more lights. Just think of it this way for every 5$ you spend on a CFL youll get more than 5$ back in buds, so its all an investment. Buy as many as you can. Also you said a friend is giving you a fan, here i would remind you not to tell anyone about your grow even if it is really hard. They will be tempted to tell somebody else as well. My last grow i told my dorm neighbor and later on several of his friends came by one day and wanted to see... Nothing further happened but this time nobody knows about it.

well i live with my friend whos giving me the extra fan..we live in a row home off campus, so im not really worried about the school.

Anyway, the plants look so much better this morning already. they arent droopy anymore and it appears that some of the yellow/brown marks are going away

Also, the 2 cfl's i have are pretty damn bright, should i still use them?

Yeah, sorry bout my risky suggestion but its better than having limited root space.i normally can guesstimate close to whats right by looking at the soil dark earthy smelll= nice nitro levels red or brownish= high in alot of other shit.you really should get a ph meter its deffinately more important than epson salt and probly cheaper too. i have areal good one that was 7 dollars but its only for soil.

yes this is 100% correct, those two oval leaves (sorry forgot the name of them) are only to collect light until your first real set of leaves develop. some people clip them immediately I let them fall off naturally.

I could be wrong but i wouldnt have sent him right out to get ferts and a ph meter. The main thing that should (have been done) was to add lights. You can go your whole grow without too much attention to ferts and ph, sure its good when you know what your doing, but for a new grower i think its a bigger risk of giving an overdose than not adding more nutes. Especially in the early veg stage you shouldnt have to worry about it too much.
If im wrong then i take it back, im still a newer grower myself but just adding my experience.
About your 2 CFLs, why woulnt you use them, what are all the lights you have now?

Well I just added one of the cfl's and I gotta get some more stuff to hook up the second one..i was thinking of not using them because they are bright and give off more heat than id like..they are only 14W anyway i found out

Im not really worried about adding nutes and such, i am trying to get more lights..

no you are correct, a soil grown plant can go it's entire life and need no nutes....remember weed is just that....a weed.....it grows naturally in the wild all over the world. and u are also correct in that most new growers will overdose there plants thinking they have defficiencies when usually it is poor growing conditions that cause health problems.

shoot even my hydro plants weren't given nutes until about week 3, and even then I fed them @ quarter the recommended strength and my plants have no discoloration....they are green as can be.

For me so far germinating has been the hardest, lol. I used paper towel method but maybe ive always had it in too cold of an area, i always looked for something warm but there never was a place like that, something like close to heater or DVD player or such. Next time i will plopp them righ into soil or those moss cubes and give right under light. Thats probably the warmest place and theres lots of people wo do great with soil from the start.
