First Time Grow

Hi everybody, this is my very first post ( and grow ) so please bare with me.

I am in limited in the space I have so I am using a wardrobe for growing. At the moment I am using 3 x Philips tornado warm white( 20 watt = 97 watt ) and each puts out 1350 lm. I am at week 2 day 2. The only nutrients I have used so far are Dolf Tomato feed and Baby Bio for herbs.

The plants have had very little nutrients as I only started giving them yesterday. For the rest of the time it has been filtered tap water. I will of course post pics a little later. I am not entirely sure which plant is which but I'm growing White Russian , Chocolate Chunk , Early Bud , AK47 and Low berry Fem. I am on a very restricted budget so cost friendly idea's would be much appreciated.

I plan to use Iguana juice when it comes time for flowering. Would this setup stand a chance?

Thanks in advance to anybody who replies ,

Best wishes ! :leaf:

Oh meant to say I would be happy if just one survives and flowers well, the only reason there are so many plants is because I wanted to see which would survive. If all goes well this time Buddha Haze / New York Special will be next.

Thanks again !

Too early for nutes bro wait till they have atleast a few more nodes and try morenlighting get those y socket splitters and connect like 8 bulbs to one lamp

Thanks for the replies guys, here's the photo's.

I am using John Innes Seed sowing compost, I also bought an extra light tonight so I know have 4. The y socket splitters seem to be very hard to come by in Ireland, even tried ordering one from Amazon but the refuse to deliver to Ireland :cuss:

Ok, understood, lay off the nutes for a while, cheers. Any other advice? How do the plant's look to you guys?

I did manage to find one person with some for sale so hopefully by tomorrow I'll have two of them.

Oh , just so you all know the biggest plant's soil looks different, this is because I bought miracle grow organic soil, thought it might do the plant a little better.

UPDATE : I found somebody who is willing to sell 4 x e27 y socket splitters, I will be collecting them later today , I also found a e27 male to female adapter, which will be pretty handy.

You can't have too many Cfl lights, the more the merrier! How's your cab looking now?...

Bright as hell ! Going to buy 2 more tornado bulbs tomorrow, will be running on 6 bulbs then rather than 4. Any comments on how they are looking?

The two plants sharing a pot...I'd re-pot them into individual pots before their roots get too entangled...

They look great though!

Threw it out, no good keeping it around. Have 6 lights on 4 plants now. One of them in particular is starting to show sign of leaf curling. I don't think it's down to over watering so that leaves excessive heat. I'v blocked off the window and left the wardrobe doors open for most of today. There's also a small desk fan keeping them cool. Had to re-pot another 2 of them today as growth seemed to have slowed down. Will post more pictures soon.

Oh one other question I have is : Would these lights suffice for the flowering period? I know I have to change to a 12 / 12 cycle at some stage but do I also have to change the lights?

All depends on the light spectrum

This'll help you out I hope...

Ok so does that mean that there are some standard incandescent light bulbs that are suitable for flowering? If so would you have any idea which types? I have a fire glow red bulb ( 60 watt ) would that help with flowering or hinder it? Sorry for all these questions, I wont ask anything twice ! :)

I've never used these particular CFLs, but I would presume they're on the packaging.
I just checked out the spectrum of my bulbs, so if you know what brand you're using should be a doddle to find out.
I know there's usually no trouble buying them locally for most peoples...

But yes, there are different kinds of these lights, from red to blue and in between, I couldn't give you a brand name but someone on riu will I've no doubt.

(Edit Keep asking dude, no problem...)

Those that you put in the larger pots look happy. (hint hint..... do the others too :) )..... Also, I remember reading a thread that mentioned clear containers are not good (IDK if there's truth to that or not, only one time I remember seeing that.)
Looks like you have a nice grow started, but one thing I noticed, some of them look like they are planted near the center of the containers, and others look over to the edge. I don't think the ones close to the edge will get an even rootball developed.
In the early pics, I noticed a couple starting to lean-rotate your pots so that the leaning is kept to a minimum, or at least even. You may not need to, since you are adding more lights, but something to watch.
Also, fan blowing gently all the time will help strengthen the stems.
Sorry, but I have no suggestions for the light, I am doing outdoors for my 1st grow.
More light=no stretching/leaning
