My caregiver has decided to try waterfarming. We went to the grow shop yesterday to get the stuff to make our own set-up. We were going to go with sprayers, but they didn't have all the parts for it, so we went with drip. The guy at the shop said that drip is easier for beginners because there aren't as many parts to clog or malfunction.

We have a standard size Rubbermaid tub. We cut 6 holes in the top for our 3" net cups which will be filled with hydroten. This is where my first question comes up...
I can use my drip system for rooting clones too, can't I? Would I just stick them in the neoprene circles and then in the cups of hydroten? Once they start getting roots out the bottom, should I remove the neoprene circles or not? I have been told I can do it from seed with this system too, if I just put the seed in rapid rooter pellets and then into the hydroten, anyone got an opinion on this?

There will be WW and Mids growing in the same tub, there aren't enough WW's to fill the box yet. We will just focus on the WW's, and let the mids do as they will.

I also managed to get some free samples of hydro nutes from the guy at the grow shop. They are Supernatural brand. I got a 3 pack that includes Gro Aqua, Bloom Aqua, and Super Boost. He also gave me a sample of Supernatural Superlicious sweetening agent, and one of some Root Burst Powder, also by Supernatural.

I am going to do some more reading on hydro...Please please please share any advice or tips you may have..:peace:

I postd this before, but no responses, so I'll try again.

These are updated pics as of about an hour ago. The first two are the WW clone, growing nicely. My question here is could I take the branch that I am holding in the second pic and cut it for a clone, or is it too small?
The third pic is the mid that I did not top. She is 9 1/2 inches today. I was planning on putting her into flower tomorrow, but I think I may push it till this weekend to let her get a little bigger. Oh, and she is starting to preflower I think. There are little green "hairs" growing out of the base of the nodes. They are long, slender, and tapered, and I think this means female...SOMEONE PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG! If that is the case, then both of my bagseed mids turned out female bongsmilie and that makes me super happy!
The last pic is of the mid that I topped, I wanted to do my own comparison study. It is amazing how much she has bushed out since my last set of pics. I think I will extend her veg time also so that i can take some clones. I want to have some to play with in the new hydro system that aren't as valuable. That way if we mess up, then its no biggie.

HAHAHA wanna know what, I'm an idiot! LOL It turns out that my autos have been growing after all. Not much, but I just realized today that when I water it washes more and more of the loose dirt up next to the plant. I smoothed it out the way it was before, and now my auto that was just a hair under an inch is actually about an inch and a half. I think they are finally bouncing back from whatever the hell I did to them!

I just went and looked at my little autos...they are growing like weeds LOL. Not so much in height, but they have at least doubled in width. It feels good to be back on the right track!

Dudette, have you topped those bitches yet? No offence. If not get on and top them before putting them to 12/12. After third node should give you 4 main colas. If not just top again. Check out the sticky on topping in the main section for some good info. This will make your non auto strains nice and bushy and keep the height in check.

Oh did you have any luck trying to keep the temps down? If youre in a room where you can leave the window open, then do so, this also makes a difference to temps.

And if you have the space maybe try and transfer them before going to flower, those pots look on the small side.

Best of luck!

LOL no offense taken, u gotta try pretty hard to offend me LOL. I'm gonna take some pics in the mornin, but they still arent very big. Which bitches are u talkin? I didn't know if I should top the autos or not since that promotes wider shorter growth and they are already twice as wide as they are tall (at least).

As far as the mids go, I'm almost positive they r both female...I topped one and didn't the other, just to compare differences. I am putting the untopped mid into flower in the next few days, I decided to put it off a little and see if she will get a little taller. I also plan on transplanting, definitely, but I didn't want to stunt my autos growth again, they just started showing some good growth a week or so ago. It has been cooler outside, so I haven't even had to worry about temps.

Yeah thats good, you shouldnt top the autoflowers. They need all the growth they can recieve on that one fat cola. As for differences with the topped plant you may start to notice that it becomes more bushy and grows horizontally rather than vertically.

.... also here is a link to some info on supercropping, its very beneficial in these situations when growing with cfls etc as you will get more main colas and better light distribution. In effect you are bending the stem over and changing the hormonal response of the plant to produce more budding sites and make sure that ALL the buds have equal growth and more light. I supercropped before flowering and im glad i did! :blsmoke:

I hope this makes sense, kind of had the feeling i was rambling bongsmilie
lol
anyway... heres the link

I think I labeled them all pretty well...The one in the white pot is my WW clone. She's almost big enough to make babies of her own now I think! :twisted:The older two autos that have shown sex are about 28 days if my calculations are correct. They are the same size as the ones that are 16 days old and haven't sexed. Seems to me like I did it a little better with the second two LOL. bongsmilie

I will try to get pics of my bubbleponics set up on today or tomorrow. I want to have all the kinks worked out and all the hoses and plants in place before I do pics.

Comment away...Come on guys, chat up a storm LOL:mrgreen:

Hey there D2G I saw you stopped by my first grow, thanks for the support. Looks like everything is going pretty good for you over here, I'm liking the large variety in meds that you have going right now. Keep up the good work!!

Your very welcome, thank you for the support also. I like to be able to compare my stuff with people of my abilities, instead of with the yields of the pot gods on this sight LOL. They make me feel insufficient. LOL u know what I mean. I like the variety too, I'm so sick of the same ol shit all the time!
