First Grow - Yellowish/Brown Leaf Tips on 13 Day Old Plant (pics)

I actually just fed 1/3 dose of FF trio (grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom) with the watering today. I usually water once every 5-7 days (it takes a while for the soil to dry due to relatively poor drainage). I waited this long to feed (4.5 weeks) because the FFOF/FFHF soil I had them in actually burnt at the beginning of veg stage. I flushed a few times since that burn though, and went ahead and fed today because I was pretty sure I was looking at some sort of deficiency.
If you flushed before you fed today, wait a few days and see how the plant takes the feeding. If the probably progresses then we can move on from their. You can PM me if you wish in a few days if you are still having problems.

The watering does seem long in between, but I also don't know what kind of pots you use and what size, and what the temps are in your room. You say it's poor drainage but I know I've been using FFOF for years and have never rain into drainage issues.

Well this is my very first grow so im not 100% sure if its a drainage issue or not. I assumed it was because she showed signs of overwatering for about 5-6 days after my last watering (1 gallon with 20% runoff) and it took a while for the pot to feel lighter again. Shes in a 3 gallon pot, and temps have been a 79-88 (temps have reached up to 90 before but its not very often). I didn't flush before watering this time actually, just put a gallon of water with the 1/3 dose nutes added to it. I didn't get much runoff this time with watering either, maybe 5-10% runoff.I will definitely check back with ya in a few days for updates. Another problem I forgot to mention the oldest pistils have already turned brown at only ~31 days old (i've read this could be burn, deficiency, or just normal for the strain). Last question, the strain is an autoflower, any idea on what to look for to tell if it has changed from veg to flower stage?

Alright well it being an Autoflower completely changes things. What is your light schedule right now and how much light do you have on it? And what kind of lighting? It should only "veg" for 2-3 weeks, then start flowering. If it's been vegging for 4-5 weeks from sprout, it might not be a true Autoflower strain. The flower under any schedule of light whether it's 24-0 or 12-12, most I hear of is 18-6 and sometimes 20-4.

Drainage issue means there is too much watering being held, or not enough. If you water your plant, feel how heavy it is, a couple days later feel it again, see how much lighter it is, then check again a day or two later. It being in a 3g put at 4-5 weeks old and being in that temp, it should be drinking every 3-4 days at least. Try sticking your figure 3-6 inches down see how dry or moist it is. If it's dry it needs water. But I think feeling the water when it's dry and when it's fully watered works best for me.

Since you just fed it, let it take in the nutes the next couple days. If it looks better then just feed normal with water next time. If it looks worse then you will want to flush it completely. Water it with fresh water until the drainage starts turning clear.

Light schedule is at 24/0 right now. I have 4x 26w 6500k, and 2x 26w 2700k. I was planning to switch to 4x 26w 2700k and 2x 26w 6500k for veg. It is exactly 31 days old from when I first saw the 2 cotyledons. I will look into watering more, but as it is the leaves droop a bit after watering and for about 3-4 days they are still droopy. This type of drooping wasnt the whole branch drooping, just the leaves, but maybe that drooping was due to underwatering? The reason I asked is because I think it is starting to switch to veg stage right now, i'm just not sure what signs to look for to tell. I will get a couple of pics for ya.

You're colors are a little off for vegging and flowering. You would want 4x the 2700k, 2x the 6500k for flower, 2x the 2700k, 4x the 6500k for veg.

If it's 31 days old, you can keep at 24/0, 18/6 might make it start flowering a little quicker, but I'm not expert on Autos so I don't know how the time would affect yield. I just know that the plants tend to do better then they have some time to rest with the lights off.

Once an Auto sprouts, it will only spend a few days to a week in a seedling stage before it goes into a short 2 week veg state until it starts flowering.

For the drooping, sometimes they droop immediately after a watering. If they are still droopy after 3-4 days it could be a heat or humidity issue. You got good circulation going in the area?

Pics wouldnt upload on edit page for some reason
Honestly the plant doesn't look that bad to me. Might be lacking a little nitrogen but that's about it for now. Wait a few days after this feed you just did, see how she looks. Makes sure to pick up the pot start feeling when your plant needs watered.

I have 2 more pics (one of the brown pistils, and another of the start of what seems to be bud growth. Not sure though. As for the lights, I have them in there right I just had em flopped when I wrote that post.

edit: yeah pics wont post, ill try to get em up asap though. can you tell from that last pic if they are flowering yet?

Alright Triplec, I need your help once again! Everything has been going fairly smooth, nothing wrong other than a little bit of yellow tips that hasnt progressed down the leaves yet like it did when it was burnt. The past few days the leaves have been drooping a bit, once again some conflicting information told me it was under or overwatering. Leaves havent been as bad the past few days as they were 3-4 days ago so I assume it was overwatering as it has gotten better as the soil is drying out (I could be 100% wrong here, let me know!)
Now the 3 main issues I have are:
1. the tips on some of the very new growth almost looks like the tips are a reddish color
2. there are some brown spots on a few of the new leaves
3. growth seems to have slowed down a lot

I can provide any information/picture angles I can for ya to help diagnose this issue, so let me know what info you need!
Have you fed any calmag yet?

Well the nutes I use have mag in it, but no cal I don't think. What would be the easiest way to get the cal in there without an actual calmag product from a gardening store? Are the brown spots a cal def? Will definitely be adding calmag to my shopping list for the next grow, along with perlite and some not so hot soil.

Yep, the brown spots are cal def. I also think your ph is off. Did you get a ph meter? Without getting calmag, you could try using your tap water if you haven't been. Make sure you ph it first though.

My card expired the day I tried to order, had to wait to get the new PIN and havent got around to placing the order for the ph meter again. Will add that to my shopping list to get asap too lol. A new question I have is should I go ahead and switch to flowering lights? Not sure if you can tell from the last picture if its starting to flower or not yet.

Alright guys, here are some update pics. The yellowing got a little better after feeding the first time a week and a half ago. A few tips got a little burnt, but nothing serious and everything else looked healthy. I watered again 2 days ago and now yellowing has returned a bit and the very upper leaves are drooping straight down. The lower growth doesnt seem affected just the top few nodes. What does it look like to you guys?
First 2 pictures are from 2 days ago and yesterday, 3rd picture is from today.

Well from the picture you posted back on the 26th, over all your plant doesn't look that bad health wise, I mean a couple spots towards the top but nothing too concerning.

It does look pretty yellow towards the top with the new growth.

Do you know the temperature and humidity in the room? Also what is your light system? Wattage, type, ect.

Well, I actually had to raise the whole box itself up a little bit cuz the plant was starting to grow into the lights. I think it threw off the humidity a little bit, cuz its around 30% now. Temps have stayed around 84 degrees a little warmer at the very top of the plant maybe. The lights im using are 6x 26w cfl's. I did recently switch over to flowering lights though.

Well the humidity is fine, temps. are a little high, which might explain the cure at least. I was thinking the yellowing could be from being too close to the lights but with running CFLs that won't happen.

Idk from what I'm looking at with it being that yellow, might just be running low on N. Might not use a lot of it during flower but it still needs some. I feed my plants N nutes throughout flower as well.

Yeah I thought maybe the temp was a little too high at the top of the plant, which is why its a little off. I didnt feed with this most recent watering, so maybe when I go to water/feed in a few days it could clear up. Is it safe to say the drooping is overwatering?

Well there is a simple and cheap way to cool down those lights. Wal-Mart has these small 5", maybe smaller, fans with clips on the end, so you just clip them on anywhere. Clip one of those right next to those CFLs I guarentee you see a big drop in temp., and it's low cost, costing under $8.

If you didn't feed last watering, then defiantly next time you water and add feed, watch it the next few days after that. If it doesn't get better we'll have to see what you are feeding it, and possibly might have to do a flush.
