First Grow - Yellowish/Brown Leaf Tips on 13 Day Old Plant (pics)

I zoomed in and it looks like new growth tips are burning too. I think I would go ahead and flush it. You might not need to do a full flush which the standard for that is to run 3x the amount of water compared to the pot size. You might try running 2-3 gallons of distilled through it until the runoff is a lot clearer. If anything get some type of fan in there afterwards to give it a lot of air. You might get droopy leaves for a few days but I think she can handle it. That's better than letting it burn up.

Would you suggest flushing immediately? Or should I wait a few days (watered it 2 days ago). The soil still seems moist a few inches down.

And also I've got a few questions about flushing. What is the proper technique to flushing? Should I flush all 3-4 gallons through it at once. Or should I do a gallon, wait a few min, another gal, etc. And my last question, what is the purpose of a flush? Just to flush through old water/nutrient buildup around the roots?

The purpose of this flush would be to basically not make your soil so hot and to stop the nute burn. So your flushing all the unnecessary nutes that are burning your plants. I don't know what your light cycle is but I would flush now. When I say now, I mean, at the start/beginning of your next light cycle. That way the lights are running and with the airflow that will help dry it out faster and reduce potential problems. Run a 1-2 gallons through until you get a good amount of run off and take note of the color. Then keep running water through until the run off is almost clear. Like I said earlier you don't have to flush all the nutes out of the soil but probably like 3/4 of them. Do you have nutrients you planned on using later? If so what kind? It kinda depends on the plant but you would need to give it at least two weeks after the flush and then start slowly introducing nutes again at about 1/4-1/2 strentgth.

Also, I forgot to mention to make sure you don't get the leaves soaked or wet in the process. You plant is low and close to the soil so you need a pencil or something, even your hand to hold the leaves up while watering/feeding/flushing. I had this same problem on my 2nd grow. Mine were 3 weeks old and I miscalculated my nutrients and severely nute burned my plants. The majority of people were telling me they'd be fine and not to flush. I did end up flushing 2 weeks after the nute burn happened, but it was way too late. It virtually ruined the grow. One of them has recovered slightly, but yeild will be very minimal.

Wats UP With My Mig-29 AUTOFLOWERING it's about 2mths old and has red stems and yellowing leaves all over I picked most of them OFF I think it's ph related cause the Onlytthing I've done differently is use "brunnings Easy Wetta WETTER GRANULES "the second Pic is it's sister without the Wetter Grannules

I have actually been keeping them on 24/0 mostly because I am lazy and didnt look for a timer to set them on. I have FF grow big, FF big bloom, FF tiger bloom. Should I not be running them on 24/0? I am going to go ahead and flush, as it seems like it's something you want to do sooner rather than later.

A lot of people do 24/0 but I think plant do need some rest. Either way is probably fine. I did 20/4 the first time I did autos. I have another auto going now but doing 18/6 since its in a cabinet with a photo.

Hmm, its been at 24/0 for 2 weeks+ so I think changing it to 20/4 now would throw it off. I flushed about 4 gal distilled through it just now, so I guess we sit back and wait?

I got a question, should I trim the burnt spots off the leaves or let them be? I've read a few people say trim them, and some say keep em.

Nah, don't trim the leaves unless 60% of the leaf are either burnt or dead. Also, I wasn't saying to change your lighting, it should be fine. However, it wouldn't hurt anything. Auto's don't care as long as it's more than 12hrs per day.

You need to start your own thread instead of hijacking JT's. That said, its a nitrogen defIceny. You need to feed her.

How did the run off look at first and then when you finished?
Runoff was really dirty the first 2gal, it cleared up a lot the next 2 gal, but was still a little brown. I tried to get pictures of the runoff for ya but between the lighting and camera I couldn't get a good picture. I was thinking I should've kept goin but I only had 4 gal lol. What do I need to look for to see if the flush helped? I'm guessing just check the newest growth for burned tips?

Yep, new growth from this point, in theory should not have burnt tips. That's want you want. Hopefully that should stop anymore burning on the ones already burnt. You won't know much for a few days I suspect. I think it's definitely going to help, not hurt. As long as the run off was significantly lighter you should be ok.

Also take pictures everyday so you can compare them. If burning still occurs, flush again in a few days.

Alright! Thanks a ton for the help man. With this being my first grow I was taking daily update pictures anyway just to monitor growth. I'll throw up some update pictures in a few days to see if it helped.

No prob. I needed all the help I could get on my first grow. Hell, I still have questions all the time. I don't think there's any plant that can be as simple yet extremely complex to grow as mj.

This is my 3 week old AK48. I transplanted and topped it after too weeks. It's looking pretty good. I might top or fim again in another week or so. Haven't given any nutes. It's in BioBizz's light mix.

Lookin good! I was thinking of trying some of the AK strains next, but i've not yet given up on this grow!, I should probably try normal photo period plants, instead of autoflowers next time. Im hoping mine will bounce back! Keep up the good work!

I did autos for my first grow too. Then 2 photos but screwed them up. Now doing one auto and that AK 48 photo.

I went with auto mostly cuz I didn't want to fool with the 18/6 and wanted to just let it run 24/0. And the shorter time from seed-> harvest was appealing. If you don't mind I may have some future questions/progress pictures to get your opinion on if I should flush again or change anything up.
