If/when it were to happen id get worried at 85.. But that's my tent. I think I read at 95 it starts to slow growth, the plant starts to transpire more than it can uptake from the roots.

I always thought this would be the case. the ballasts on the 4 23 watters I had when I started my first crop got super hot can only imagine what 10 or 15 of those in a tent would do. Not to mention re adjusting every day. Nah not for me.
I agree dude, thats the biggest pain in the ass, i have to move the lights several times before i'm satisfied :/

Can only imagine.
Your pretty close to done on those id start thinking about upgrades for next crop namely a light and way to exhaust the heat away from the tent.

Word of advice: Don't overlook drying and curing. Its the difference between top shelf and mid grade but no one gets it right the first time

So for the past year I've been looking to turn my closet into a small grow space for cannabis. I recently purchased all the equipment and set the closet up. I have done hours and hours of research and continue to do so every day. While waiting on my seeds from the UK. An older gentleman I know who grows on a much larger scale (about 60 plants, however he doesn't use enough light and he hasn't put much research outside of the occasional high times magazine.) He ordered the seed from BC buds and forgot what he even ordered, all he knows is that it's an autoflowering plant it looks like a sativa to me. He gave it to me 2 weeks and 2 days ago when the plant had been in flowering for a week or 2. The plant is about 3.5 feet tall the first pic is of the top cola the day I got the plant. The second picture was taken 2 days ago 2 weeks and 2 days from receiving the plant. I use 400 watts of CFL light, a fertilizer for bloom and also terpinator as I read great things about the product. I would like to know how you guys think I'm doing for my first ever grow. The plant looks like it's loving the closet to me. Cheers and thanks in advance!
Use 12/12 light sched even if it is an auto.

Well I read online that it was optimal from around 76-82F while the lights were on. My closet has hit 84 in some cases but I try my hardest to keep humidity and temp as perfect as I can. what do you think is too hot?
I like to try my hardest to stay at around 75-80F anything over that i dont like and try my hardest to make whatever adjustments i can fast i b worried

Just from looking at the pics. How much longer do you think I've got till I need to start flushing? I have my eye on the platinum led p450 for my closet. I only wanna grow one plant at a time and I feel like I could get 4-5 oz a harvest off 450 of real quality led.
I watched quite a few vids and have read several high times articles about curing. I plan on drying 5-7 days then curing for at least 2 weeks. As I plan on using this whole plant for personal use I want the best taste and smokeability. My friends who smoke are already salivating over this plant lol. I'd like to impress with my first grow.

You may also consider a 325W ceramic metal halide (cmh). They have a very good spectrum +uv etc etc and it seems the perfect size for what you are doing. If you start running over night that will offer better control over heat in the summer while in the winter the heat would cut down a lot on having to use a heater 24/7.

Install a fire alarm as close as possible and have two thermal cut out leads to spread load. Wound up extension lead in a hot environment is bad even if under loaded. I would take this part serious because in a small room like that if something goes wrong, like a timer fk up, it will get very hot very fast. If it's an open cupboard type of deal then I guess you can regulate the heat from the big room/s and little of the above is a problem, but 100% use thermal cut outs if not already.

Look in the vert forum if you think that style may serve you better with the vertical vs horizontal space you have to play with. Just make sure to check bulbs and fittings can handle being hung that way should you miss that disclaimer there and decide to try it. The box fan under light would also be a necessary addition in that style should you also miss that.

I originally intended to keep the closet door closed but the heat build up got to intense. Luckily the bedroom the closet is in is empty and I can leave the door open with a box fan in the door of the closet pointed up at the lights and a swiveling fan blowing on the plant. Do you think a 400w hps set up could get me the yield a 450w led could? Eventually what I want is to just use the whole room to grow 4 plAnts cause 5 and over is prison time where I live. I'd like to have 4 in each corner of the room under 4 different lights. I'm not rich so what lights would you recommend for a 12X12 room growing 4 plants to as big as I can get them?

400 hps will not do what 40w of cobs would

in a closet with just one or two plants i'd go with a 400 watt digital ballast, you can veg under mh and then switch to hps for flower. as long as you can put the light in a vented fixture (preferably a cooltube, hoods take up a lot of room) and use at least a 4 inch 190 cfm fan you should be able to keep it under 85 easily. i use a 400 watt hps in a 3x3x6 tent to flower with exactly that fan and my tent sits right at 80, just pulling in the 72-73 degree air out of my house.

How many plants if more than one do you think a 400w could grow to a good size

COB means chip on board, the next step in led evolution, before you buy any led lights go to the led forum and at least read the stickies and do some research, a good led is a wonderful thing, the other 99% of the shit on the market is just that, shit on the market
