So for the past year I've been looking to turn my closet into a small grow space for cannabis. I recently purchased all the equipment and set the closet up. I have done hours and hours of research and continue to do so every day. While waiting on my seeds from the UK. An older gentleman I know who grows on a much larger scale (about 60 plants, however he doesn't use enough light and he hasn't put much research outside of the occasional high times magazine.) He ordered the seed from BC buds and forgot what he even ordered, all he knows is that it's an autoflowering plant it looks like a sativa to me. He gave it to me 2 weeks and 2 days ago when the plant had been in flowering for a week or 2. The plant is about 3.5 feet tall the first pic is of the top cola the day I got the plant. The second picture was taken 2 days ago 2 weeks and 2 days from receiving the plant. I use 400 watts of CFL light, a fertilizer for bloom and also terpinator as I read great things about the product. I would like to know how you guys think I'm doing for my first ever grow. The plant looks like it's loving the closet to me. Cheers and thanks in advance!

Good leaf structure on the fan leaves but coloring possibly shows some type of issue, maybe bugs.

They never PH'd their water for the plants so I was thinking it was some sort of deficiency, since I've been Keepiny the ph at arojnd 6.8 none of the new leaves have the spots. From the pic do you still think it's bugs?

That looks more like cal/mag shortage but I'd scope front and back of leaf to get a better idea of what is going on.

looks pretty good for cfls.

400 actual watts or 400 comparable watts? If you can deal with the heat and keep your temps down. 400 watts of HID would do waaaay more work more for your money.

400 actual watts! And trust me friend I would loveeeeee to have a nice hid and ballast but my temps are already sitting at 82 sometimes. So heat is definitely a problem for me at the moment. I plan on selling a bit off this plant for a 600w led. And maybe a small window AC so I can better control temps. How much hotter do you think an HID would run me up?

At least 10degrees. I'm running a lec and it's 4 degrees above room temp. Sunsystems can be expensive but you can piece one together for 300 to 400.

600 watts of good leds tho will cost you a pretty penny for sure.

What would you consider high temp in a tent? Whats max temp you let your grow space get to?

Just a small ''what I would do''. Would try to get one of the bigger lights closer to the main canopy rather than the smallest light. You can bend the reflector right up nion vertically so it kicks out side lighting too. You can drop 125cfl into the U shape canopy within 3 inches of as much of the leaves as possible to stay on the safe side.

My heat went down -3/4f moving from 500 actual watts of cfls to a 600hps in a sealed hood. Cfls are actually one of the hardest setups to cool down.

I agree with ya! This plant was given to me at the start of flowering and it was grown from seed with an HPS bulb about 6 feet above the plant lmao. It stretched really bad as this plant is over 5 feet tall in my closet! The canopy is extremely uneven and I only have 2 feet from the front to back of my closet so I just tried to get them as low as I could to the rest of the canopy. I originally intended to buy a few more hanging CFL but my first grow already costed me quite a bit more than I thought it would and I didn't wanna spend anymore money. :P. I have seeds from a UK Seedbank and I plan on keeping the canopy even with some LST I will for sure post the full grow on here and you can tell me what you think man, thanks for the advice. Cheers.

If/when it were to happen id get worried at 85.. But that's my tent. I think I read at 95 it starts to slow growth, the plant starts to transpire more than it can uptake from the roots.

I always thought this would be the case. the ballasts on the 4 23 watters I had when I started my first crop got super hot can only imagine what 10 or 15 of those in a tent would do. Not to mention re adjusting every day. Nah not for me.

Yeah, its pretty fucking hot lol. Easier to cool 1 200f bulb vs 15 130f bulbs.
