I really like your grow! You can do it mate. I never water by weight... All I do is stick my finger deep in and read the leaves... I see no need for weighing or whatnot.

do you water by eye or do you measure? i just started to measure this grow and so far it is helping me water beter(i have killed many to over watering) that and working on matching my meter to the plants needs.

she is doing beter i see, now done flowering, vegging is pretty fun, first time veggin with 600w i love it!
I usually just stick my fingers in the soil (gently). I try to get a few inches down and if I don't feel any moisture, I'll water. I've been on about a 5 day watering cycle.

I'm going to turn the 2700k cfl off when I take pictures next time. It's making the leaves look a little discolored. Probably take some more pictures on Friday or over the weekend.

by weight is the easiest for me. by the time i get it off the ground i can feel the difference.
Can't go by weight because she's in a thick, huge ceramic pot--it's heavy no matter what. I suppose there is a distinct difference in weight, regardless of how heavy the pot is to begin with, but the finger check has worked well thus far.

Because of the size of the pot, a ton of perlite was necessary to assure the soil would actually dry. Otherwise the roots would barely grow and I'd eventually get root rot. I water once a week. Been doing pretty well.

I live in an apartment where the AC's are window units, but they're in their own little cutouts in the walls. My roommate has one in his room, I have one in mine, and there is one in the living room which is responsible for cooling the rest of the apartment. Pretty basic.

The living room AC has been out of commission for about a week--it's been terrible. Last night, the AC in my room (where my grow closet is located) started making extremely loud buzzing noises. The AC would buzz LOUDLY and consistently 2x in a row, every 5 minutes. I didn't get a wink of sleep. However, it still pumps out cold air. I'm assuming the buzzing occurs b/c I've left it on 'Low Cool' for a few weeks now to help control the temp for my plant. Therefore, I had to leave the AC off all day today. Temperatures will rise in my grow spot, anywhere from 90F-100F, until I get home at around 6pm. The AC needed this rest.

I'm going to get my landlord to replace all the AC's on Saturday when I'm around so I can make sure he doesn't spot my :weed:

yeah make sure your home, when i live in my apt and told my landlord my ac broke he came when wasn't home to fix it. and didn't even tell me the day he was coming. Good thing i wasn't growing.

or masturbating...
HAH.

I got home today and the temp in the closet was 109F with a low of 103F. The humidity was down in the 30's as well. :wall:

She looks ok though. Since I got home and turned the AC on, the temp is on its way down. It's at 93F as I type. It was at 91F, but I just added another 27w 5000k CFL on a Y adapter with the 42w 2700k. I now have 139w of 5000k+ and 42w of 2700k on there. I figure this is what is making the temp go up a bit. It should be back down into the 80's soon enough. Going to water tomorrow. Pics are attached.

I just ate a baked good and I intend to catch up on some sleep in front of the TV. All comments welcome.

The humidity drops when I put my box fan in front of my air conditioner. I only do this b/c the AC kind of sucks. I guess the air in my room circulates too much for my closet to accumulate good humidity levels. Getting all new AC's in two days, so I can stop using the box fan to cool my room down. I'll expect the humidity to stay up past 40%.

Hoping to start flowering late this week/early next week.

The white hairs are showing up everywhere now. I'm kind of worried it's going to start flowering before it gets any bigger. It's only like 5 in. tall as you may have seen in my previous set of pics.

Anyone have any idea of how much a 5-7in tall auto might yield?

It will double to about 10 inches once fully in flower. Happened to me too with my youngest plant but my other grew to about 9 inches then flowered.

Officially flowering. Added the 68w 2700k back into the mix. Might go buy another 42w 2700k and replace one of the 23w 5000k bulbs. For now I changed the light cycle to 16/8. Going to ease into 12/12. Pics to come tomorrow at some point.

I've got about 240 watts on her now. Will be about 260 watts if I make that switch.

I'm not 100% that she started flowering. Kind of seems like it. I'll be giving her tiger bloom the next time I water--around Sunday--and mix in some big bloom toward the end. Here are some pics:

Yep, mine was about that height when it started flowering. If you want it to spread out a bit more I'd raise your lights. I wanted the growth so I did.
