First grow, random Nirvana strains

I retract my earlier statement, I found a 1000w HPS system (ballast, bulb and ballast) on craigslist and am picking it up tomorrow for only $60

60$ ??? damn good deal

yeah I dont know why he is selling it so cheap, I didn't want to go with a 1000w light cause of the heat but at that price I have to I will get a cooltube for like 50 bucks

I didn't buy the 1000w HPS, I talked with the guy for a while and he agrees 1000 watts is too much for a closet grow I was just going to get it since it was so cheap, I have a 250w HPS on the way.

In the mean time, that pH pen I ordered arrived, I calibrated it and tested the water I am using to water my plants has a pH of 7.1, I read that you want the pH to be around 6.8 what do you guys think? I ordered some Calimagic it should be here Friday

I've read for soil it should be more like 6.5~ the tap I have here is almost the same shit as yours . Been using Ph up n down kit to test and lower the ph.

alright next time I water them (probably later today) I will use my up/down kit and get the pH around 6.5.

also here is a pic I took of my plants yesterday, I added some perlite to the soil and in the next few days I am going to transplant the 2 in one pot into their own pots, and probably also pick up some fox farms ocean forest soil when I get that 250w HPS.

alright so for this grow I decided I am just going to use CFL lights, I already have 2 2900 lumen bulbs, the rest are 1700 but I just ordered these 6200 lumen lights which are supposed to arrive Tuesday.

I got the CaliMagic and I also got this AmmoLock (I was talking with this lady at my local hydro store and she suggested this it removes chlorine & chloramines & detoxify ammonia). So in a gallon of distilled water, I put a teaspoon of the CaliMagic, 5mL of the AmmoLock and a teaspoon of my nutrients. All 3 of these things makes the water have a pH of about 7.7/7.8, I used the rest of the pH down I have and lowered the pH down to 7.1. With all of this added to my water it looks like piss look at the picture.


This is day 22 of my grow, I am going to transplant the 2 I have in one pot to separate pots later today they are growing pretty fast now.

The better you make your soil bro, by adding some extra compost and/or peat/earthworm castings, it'll help you soil buffer the PH of everything that you add to it.
You shouldn't need a PH meter with soil boss! I bought one when I was first buying everything I thought I needed it, and after learning more about growing in soil I've learned that I just wasted my money buy the pH meter!

And multiple plants in one pot?! How does the transplanting work out for you?
And watch out for that Bubblicious trying to hermie late flower. Mine is a week removed from being finished and I just had to pull some "bananas" off of her this week.

thanks Sincerely420. when those new CFL lights come in, I am going to get these earthworm castings and some fox farms ocean forest. I had all 5 of my plants in one pot for the first 10 days, they didnt have a lot of roots then so it was pretty easy to transplant them hopefully this times the roots are tangled together then I dont think I will be able to transplant them

Your welcome bro! And that's wassup man! I always wondered how much trouble ppl had when separating plants potted together.
I've fallen in love with starting in small grow bags becuase when it's time to transplant them, you can just roll them down and off of the root mass without a problem.

what grow bags I am going to start a new grow with the nirvana nl seeds when I get them and want to make this a perfect grow

Use 1gal grow bags! You can go from solo to the grow bag, or straight out of the grow bag if you roll it like halfway down

here is a pic of my plants. I transplanted the 2 from one pot to their own pots, it looked like one of them died, but turns out it just needed water so I have been watering it and reviving it.

This is day 28, I have had them on a 15/9 cycle, I am about to put them on a 12/12 cycle.

i also went back to just using distilled water and my nutrients, my plants were growing a lot faster than when I added the calimagic, ammolock and pH down.

Here is a picture I just took of my plants, when if not already will I be able to distinguish the gender?

how old are your plants ? you can tell their sex after you flip them to flower or veg them long enough to show pre-flowers .

they are 30 days into growing

I did a little reading into how to sex your plants, I took a few pics and I did not see any pollen sacks, this is what I see on all 5 plants. Is this any indication of gender?
