First grow, random Nirvana strains

Hey so I am starting my first grow, I bought some bubblelicious seeds from Nirvana the other week and they sent me 10 free random seeds, so I germinated those 10 and got 5 growing now. I have everything for a DWC grow except the light so when I get that I will start those. I was supposed to get a 600w HPS, the guy told me yesterday he was going to hold it for me until I could pick it up Thursday but he texted me back this morning and said he sold it to his neighbor so I built a 6 socket CFL setup like in the Buds for Less book. 2 of them are 42 watt lights the rest are 23. I am using this nutrient and right now I have them on a 18/6 light schedule.

Day 10, 14, 16 and 18

Up until last night I had them all in one pot, today I transplanted them, put the 3 biggest in their own pot and the other 2 in one pot, I will transplant them again so they are all in their own pot in the next few days.

I am probably going to use CFLs for this entire grow, keep in mind I live in Florida so some days it is really sunny I might put them outside. Where can I find the brightest (most lumens) CFL bulb?

yeah one of them grew a lot faster than I expected and grew up into the bulb so one of the leaves got burnt

Not so much in the later pics anyhow, seems normal growth. Plus, he just stated it is probably slight bleaching. As far as I see, everything seems fine. JLFA

Ive never seen a dwc system like that. I dont know if they look N deficient but unless your using coco liners that medium is gonna clog airstones. Looking cool though and it seems like you got your stuff down.

this is not a DWC system, I said I have everything ready for a DWC grow except the light, which I thought I was picking up this Thursday but I guess not so my next grow will be a DWC grow.

alright so I took some more pics today, when I first woke up some of the lower leaves were a little droopy, I did some research and from what I read it appears they needed water, so I watered them (which I usually do every morning) and they are not as droopy now. However I did notice a lot of yellowing on a few of my plants (take a look at the pics), no idea why does anyone have any suggestions?

alright i am going to pick up some perlite tomorrow morning. does that indicate any pH issues as I do have a whole pH kit (tester, up and down) for my DWC system?

and they definitely needed water, i watered them this morning and they stood up real quick. in the past few days they have sucked up a lot of water

If they look weird flush them with 3x the volume of the container with phd water

you really should get a digital ph pen and tds meter. the cheap milawalke one is 20 bucks and as long as you keep the bulb wet with some cotton it stays accurate.

Are you using RO or distilled or tap?

You seem to be catching this stuff early on which is good.

I am using distilled water. Alright I bought this pH meter, for my DWC grow I am going to get the Milwaukee MW802 for ~ $100.

also can someone point me in the right direction to find CFL bulbs with the highest amount of lumens?

nevermind I figured out my previous question. however I have been running across these bulbs frequently but I have been doing some research and can't figure it out, how do you power them/plug them into?

I find that watering less is better. I saturate the whole pot, all let it really dry out 2-3 full days before I water again. I dont test water or use meters. I always use distilled water plain, or mixed with nutrients. My soil os fox farm ocean forest mixed with about 30 percent perlite for extra good drainage. My last harvest was some very delicious Nirvana Bubblicious.

The yellow one works well just make sure u keep some wet cotton in the cap and buy some reference solution to calibrate it. If you use distilled you will need to use some cal mag. Distilled will help you from getting issues later on and keep your yields and quality high as well as keep your bennies healthy. I found calimagic to work fine. Those bulbs are called PLL and many fourms are on here about them. I have no experience with them directly so I cannot comment. Just be sure to keep floresence about an inch or two away. Thats how you keep your buds dense.

Most people have water that is too high TDS to get through a complete grow without issues. TDS and PH are necessary tests that save harvests and ensure more grams.

More control =more grams

alright I added perlite to the soil, ordered a pH meter and a quart of calimagic from Amazon prime so should be here Wednesday. I finally figured out how to wire up those PLL lamps I am probably going to do that on my next grow (nirvana northern lights) or next month, I priced it out for 4 lamps (4900 lumens each), ballast and sockets it will cost me 90 bucks, now I can get an HPS system off craigslist for that or less, but using an HPS light I will have to compensate for cooling so for the next grow I might just stick with CFL and eventually use both.
