First grow! GSC and Purple Gorilla

@itshugz, thanks for the response. I have cut back on plucking leaves or cutting new growth since I wasn't getting a response. Yes, I use the same nutes for both strains. I haven't maxed out on the nutes because of a bad experience in the beginning, so the highest I would go is 3/4 strength, even at this I getting minimum burn on the tips, but not bad at all. I can notice the growth difference on both strains though. It seems like the Purple Gorilla's are on steroids because the bud formation is a lot faster than the GSC. I also notice that GSC is giving off more sugar than the PG. I can't wait to try both out. They both look juicy good! I'll post more pics tonight when I fill up the tubs with more fluids.

When you say 3/4 strength do u mean 3/4 of what it said on feeding chart?
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. I tried using full strength and it did nothing but give my ladies bad nute burn and they didn't like it very much. I backed off the half strength and they were fine. With 3/4 strength, the tips of the leaves were slightly burned but not bad at all, so I never went beyond 3/4 again. I read a lot of different posts with Advanced Nutrients and everyone seemed to have the same issue using full strength. Some stayed using half strength for veg and 3/4 for flower. I guess its really concentrated stuff!

Last night, I noticed on my meter that the humidity sky rockets when the lights are off. All I have on is usually 2 fans circulating air when the lights are off. I left the exhaust fan and HPS on a timer to both turn on at the same time...when the light and exhaust are off the humidity rises, i left the exhaust on all day yesterday without the timer and the humidity stayed to around 70%....I guess i'll leave it on for now on. What if i left a small crack in the tent to let in more fresh air? I purchased some DampRid this morning and left it in there, I'll check it later when the light turns on. Hoping that I won't need a dehumidifier, but I just might. Trying to use as less electricity as I can. Anyone have problems like this? I live in a city where fog is normal most of the year, it's cold at mornings and nights, I live near the ocean in north cal.

I've been peeking in the tent and noticed that the humidity is sitting around 70%. Humidity did go down, and seems like I'm gonna have to leave the exhaust fan on constantly now. Must be from the recent rains we been having lately. Hmmm. Well, it is what it is!

I have something similar to this that sits on my counter, so I don't have to go into my room to check humidity/temperature- this isn't the model I have, but i believe I could get two different meters for my different rooms- there's a function to let you know the hi's and low's of the last 24 hours as well. You def wanna watch humidity in flower stage- a dehumidifier would probably be worth the electricity so you don't lose your girls to mold/mildew... They're looking pretty though!

Leave your out take on with some circulatin fans full blast on the out take to get it down ASAP then adjust if u have a controller

I got the humidity balanced out to around 54% temp also improved from 78 degrees highest point to 64 degrees lowest point. Small spaces are pretty easy to balance out temp and humidity. I'm glad i didn't need to go out and buy a dehumidifier, two little jugs of DampAid does the job in a 2x4 tent. Also found out that fans are your best friends, I guess you can't ever go too much on fans. I have 2 6" clip on and a tall tower fan keeping the ladies cool. I'll take pics tonight and also post later. Question: Is it bad to take pics when the lights are off and using flash?

great tip Norcalbay. I recently hooked up another inline 4inch exhaust to switch on with a timer with the light and exhaust for the light is off. It made a world of difference! I thought if I had the fans on full blast while everything was off would do the job, but I was wrong.

I have one that I bought from home depot, almost identical but different brand, still does the same job. I agree with you itshugz, this is a good instrument to have with you.

Can someone tell me if calmag is something that I should be using? Or does AN have enough and I don't need to add any?

Looks really good I've never tried hydroponics so I wouldn't have any advice at all. I'm thinking of giving it a try soon though. Really good looking ladies you got there. The scrog looks nice. I pulled some smaller inside buds off late in flower but I couldn't tell any difference In bud production.

I've helped a few of my buddies with their grow, but never actually did one til recently. From what I can see from hydro to dirt is that production of bud is quite noticeable. I have my grow started the same time my buddy did his, exact same setup 2x4 tent and 6 ladies....my flowers are at least 25% larger than his and my ladies started budding a few days earlier than his. I want to know the overall dried yield when we both harvest. Another thing I noticed from our grows is that his smells a lot more potent than mines, but I have more sugar on my leaves than his. This is going to be interesting at the end results. We are using the same nutes and bud enhancers on both grows.
