I'm just wondering if I FIM'ed too early (if there is such a thing) . . . The girl seems to be taking well to it and I have noticeable growth this morning. I just need to keep her at a somewhat short round stance for the space I have.

Yes, going to be a total cfl. I have 8 65w 2500 cfls, building an XXL space bucket for the flower box. Will post pictures when it's done. Gonna veg till about a foot or sex is shown. I have about 3.5 feet of vertical space to work with. ATM. Unless my modular bucket idea works out.
Thanks for the compliment.

in time you will learn to dilute these hot soil effects with local river sand even perlite
use fresh mix is a better idea, than reusing mix to save a few bucks,
as by now many of the long term pre fertilized salts would have dissipated thru the mix

Hot soil effects? Please explain?
This was fresh soil, out of a bag purchased in October that I only needed a bit out of to transplant an ivy for the wife. Took me a minute to get its ph correct though, mixed with a small amount of worm casings from my yards worm bed and in part by what looks like heavy pine cuttings. Nothing a little baking soda didn't fix . It drains great and retains a decent amount of moisture. The fert content was the minimum I could find - .72, .35, .42 (somewhere close to that tossed the bag cause I prepped my trans pots also) to reduce risk of burn out of the box. I know the tomato fert I'm starting with is hot and a little unbalanced @ 18-18-21 but 1/4 strength caused light burn on first feed. Backed to 1/8th for the past 2 feeds with no more burn and a plant that goes crazy the next day. On the water/feed/water/feed cycle, she really seems to like that so far. Being as it's my first grow I'm always open to suggestions.
Wish I had FF soil, and a hydro store is no a feasible option in extreme rural america

hyponex spread.jpg
hyponix.jpg That is what it looks like spread out.
Did find nute content of this its .07-.01-.03
and
INGREDIENTS
formulated from organic materials (including one or more of the following: peat, forest products, or compost), sphagnum peat, perlite, plant food, a wetting agent, and hydrolyzed corn starch

The black bag of hyponex was like mud, dont use it, it gets tilled into my compost pile.

Fill the cup with more soil or transplant to bigger pot. This was happening to my plant. It was in a clear pot so I could see the abundance of roots. It needed more space

Soil is literally 1" from top of cup, but She hasn't built much of a lateral root mass yet, I checked the soil before last water (Monday) and only has a few fine roots on the side of the cup. Hardly enough to keep media together to work her all the way out. Watched a friend try to trans a little too early and the media fell apart, and tore almost all the roots. She also still makes visible growth daily. I planned on transplant Sunday if she is ready, Friday is when I get enough funds to finish my spacebucket. (Gonna post pictures today of that also)So it should work out perfect.

I just don't want to reenact my friends mistake.

Going to be moving her into a 2 gallon pot. (about as big as I can manage in my small living space.

What technique do you suggest . . . I was shooting for a 1 plant 3' max FIM - SOG . . . Or possibly LST being as my FIM didn't take???

Sorry if my replies are novels lol

184 actual cfl watts so far, still need to fix light leaks, pipe for carbon filters, add a couple more lights with adjustable light hangers, finish painting and just general beautification . . . Going to flange the bottom of another can so I can stack for adjustable height requirements. The auto water is only there for vacations when I can't find a babysitter.

20150117_154453.jpg 20150117_155436.jpg Had a few drinks told the wife she needed a name and finally settled on "Sta-zy" . . . That's Stacy with a z lol . . . The first light holder idea resulted in a touch of leaf burn, placement with clamp is working now. Thinking about hard installing them on the opposite axis and a bit higher then the ones already mounted through bucket . . . Also the first look at the surrogates aka test subjects, their about to go to their adoptive parents lol . . . shallow/smaller one is burlap lined for easy up pot next weekend into a 50G pot at adoptive parents house , the middle sized one is White Widow SIFP (seed in final pot) possibly going to grandfathers closet. . . He is in a lot of pain, can't move much, but there isn't a house plant in his place ever go without. . . "Everyone did it in the 70s. Nothing I ain't done before. Just something new to talk to" , he says lmao

d@mn!!! northern lights makes me ramble lol

20150123_231925.jpg Watered today . . . Took me a minute to regulate cab temps and lights . . . Hence the burn but everything is running great now, still a little warm with all lights on . . . Started to cycle warm lights with a second timer after day timer, 30 mins on 1 hour off, keeping blues on. Also moved her to 20 on 4 off on primary timer
