lst- low stress training...its were you bend the branch slightly to make it grow the way you want, usually to keep the top low, and let it curve up towards the light

How long did that take you?
The seeds were sprouted late July or early August, I don't remember exactly when. Three(?) weeks later they went under a 400W MH, then the 400W HPS.

From start to finish, 15 or 16 weeks.

Now that this is done, I'm going to be starting up a perpetual grow. I'm going hydro... aww yeah. I am currently adapting this technique to my space, making a list of everything I need and I'm damn excited. The cloner and veg units will work just fine as they are, the flower unit is going to take some work though. I've got a couple Purple Kush clones going in soil right now, they will be my first mothers. Eventually I hope to have at least two or three strains going, getting 1-2oz every 3 weeks from each strain, but first things first... I need to get this going. You'd better believe there will be a journal on this one :)

It just seems to best suit what I want to do. I was going to do an Al B. Fuct-style grow in soil, but was running into some logistical problems. Then I came across the thread linked above and that just seemed to make more sense. I especially like the part where there are no mother plants, clones are taken from the vegging plants. Now that I think about it, I think that was the big selling point. As I've said, my space is quite limited and not having to deal with keeping a couple plants in constant veg is a HUGE benefit. That also gives me the option of running multiple strains, which is very appealing in and of itself.

Nothing happened to me... I harvested and am busy with getting my next setup built. Once I have part of it operational, I'll be starting a thread. Until then, I've got that project going as well as two other not-insignificant (but unrelated) projects. Toss in work and social time and I've been pretty damn busy. I still check in fairly often, just been lurking for the most part right now.

Haha, thanks :) I'm going for an aero perpetual grow. The rest of the stuff I need to get the cloner and veg units up and running will be ordered today, so I should have some pics of the cloner up and running in about a week.

Thanks for sticking around too!

Nice. Honestly, before you go and buy a clone dome, I'd go check out this post and then the rest of the thread. That is what I'm doing and quite a few other people have built the cloner and veg systems and are having great success. I haven't seen the flowering systems in use with other people yet, but I think that is mainly because they haven't gotten there yet (or I haven't seen it because I've started scanning posts).

Anyway, the meat of it all is in the post I linked to. If you understand the concept, you can modify it to suit your space... I'm going to be building three smaller flower units with 6 or 8 (haven't decided yet) plant sites per unit with the resevoir directly below. I understood the concept of hydro before, but had no idea about the implementation. Read up on it... you can build the cloner, vegger and flowering systems all for probably half of what a commercial setup will cost you. (No, I'm not getting paid to advertise!)

DIY is definitely the way to go! I'll be checking to see what you end up doing.

Just placed orders for the stuff to get my clone and veg units going, everything should be here by the end of the week. Woo! :bigjoint:
