Good deal. Just needed to know if anyone had a better experience with the white painted walls vs putting up Mylar.

Idk what you did your first time, It's safe to assume you had a question or two.

If you knew your first grow what you did your 10th, wouldn't you want that advice? I understand trial and error.
I get that, but. Not knowing what nutrients you want to use? Are you going the synthetic or organic way? Floro, Canna A+B FoxFarms. All great picks for synthetic. As for organic you'll want to get things such as fish emulsion, bonemeal. etc and find the right N-P-K ratios for each plants stage of life. A little more tricky for a noob. But it leaves you with better tasting product.

Hey Feisty, Thanks again for dropping some knowledge, much appreciated!

I have been advised by a close friend here in my town and many online forums to avoid organic the first attempt. Obviously it would be a little more advance then I would like for first time! I have read amazing reviews for everything organic you mentioned and the impact it makes in the long run.

For this go, I have the FF Trio purchased and will be here next monday or tuesday...hopefully these girls chipper up once I get my PH meter this afternoon and attempt to correct that issue.

Lookin good, especially for your first grow haha, go big or go home right?

Are you doing a scrog, 12-12 from seedling, or what? You don't seem to have a lot of space to get a lot of veg time in without seriously crowding out your box.

Hey DblBrry,

Thank you for the compliment! I'd like to experiment with FIM and/or TOP, Once they get up I'll assemble a scrog net.

18/6 from seedling
Temps stay at 78-80
RH 70% at the moment.

They are currently in this little moving box because I never expected these seeds to pop. A collection I've had almost 3 years.

I have a two door closet in this room I am clearing out and prepping for these girls.

6ft wide
8ft high
2ft deep

rough dems. for the closet ^^

Not even trying to be a Dick But dude Relax, You just started your grow, I don't even think PH should be a question at this point, Most seedlings need just for the soil to be moist, I guarantee you could grow to the 2nd set of nodes with just non-ph'd tap water, An with organic soil, from what I've read you won't need Nutrients for at least 3 weeks to a month.

to be honest If I where You I would try just to grow from seed to finish, an Not worry about scrog, F.I.M, S.O.G, super cropping, and ETC.

You started your first 20 grows all at once, so you've got 20 chances to grow something, as soon as your seedlings have 2 sets of nodes(about 5-6 inchs), I would flip them 12/12 this is like the only thing I recommend for new growers to try,

If you have the space , I would take 10 of the healthiest looking seedlings and put them to flower and have 10 more, So you can learn how to handle both of them at the same time, Also this is setting you up for a perpetual!

Thanks Killah for you honesty! I just feared that using the distilled water may play a part in the yellowing being the I am using organic soil with low NPK in it already. (.18/.10/.12)

I will take your advice on flipping to flower after 2nd node, depending on how many remain healthy I may flip a couple like you suggest. Then the remaining plants learn on, but move to the closet where height is no issue.

Also just to test my knowledge, if the PH of my tap is harsh, wouldn't this result in roots locking up and not utilizing the little nutrients in the soil?

I have to make a change of something, for some being 18 days old and this little growth...eh..im trying to narrow down why so stunted.

You said you had a bigger closet so you can veg past the second node. Why not try experimenting around for experience?

Take 10-15 and throw them under a Scrog in your bigger closet. The 2ft isn't much for them to spread out so topping to lst isn't really An option.

Leave the rest in the the small closet, top a few, fim a few. Solely LST one?

Ya I think Killah was saying take half and flower at 2nd notes roughly 5-6 inches.
The remaining girls I would keep veggin and learn more with them..

I want to leaves these girls alone I have just been misting for water right now. Im really hoping they perk up and they dont start dying off one by one.

One planted needed some water, I pulled it aside, watered until 20% run off. Tested at 7.4

Up to this point I have been watering with 8.0-8.5 ph (TAP)

I just watered with rain water (6.4) which gave me run off of the 7.4

Ok, maybe I am missing something...small grow area, small amount of cfl lighting, and 20...Twenty...TWO ZERO seedlings? You have serious issues already, improper ph, a mystery and improperly mixed medium...Etc I will stop there because I do not want to come off as insulting...I want to try to help you out here. I don't normally give other advice than reading and studying some more. I don't mean all night cramming I mean real study.

First ..CALM DOWN! Cultivation is a wonderful hobby and it is very exciting to start out, been there done that. For a couple of months I studied and studied, I had not even bought a seed before I had everything I learned I needed to start. I learned a lot about nutrients, feeding, watering, lighting, ventilation and a million other things on RIU alone.

Just by taking some time to stop and REALLY learn...as my signature states you can cultivate cannabis and avoid growing some weed.

Growers HAVE been successful on very low budget so I am NOT telling you to sell your sister for some grow equip...LOL!! Big $ is not totally necessary to have a decent grow.

YOU CAN DO THIS!...Why am I so sure? The first plant I ever grew weighed well over an ounce and is the plant in my avatar pic.

Good Luck and Great Growz

I understand I jumped the gun. However Im doing the best I can to research and look up every thing possible. I see a lot of post with newbs asking what PH is or asking to line a room with mirrors

That stuff I can look up, but I cant look up instinct.

I will be moving these to a much larger area, ether my closet, or may just utilize the entire spare bedroom.

I have a friend that has extreme success cultivating. He is lending me a 1000k HPS soon hopefully by this weeks end...

He wants to see me turn the closet into VEG room, and use the main room for flower...but I am not there yet...

still trying to get these girls back bright green and not yellow =\:wall:....keeping it simple and leaving them be.

Hahaha! no no no, not offended...

I was a corporate trainer for a couple years...I know the stress of people doing to much to quick without thinking or asking...I appreciate every reply and response...all constructive criticism I take seriously.

I've always wanted to give this my best shot..I laughed when I placed the seeds in a paper towel and told my girlfriend they are too old, none will pop. Once the majority did I rushed to setting up..I need to be told to slow down! That will prevent most error, taking my time before I make a move.
