There are a lot of shoots spreading against the netting, so I hope that there is a nice base for flower production. I'll also start to defoilate any lower leaves/shoots over the course of a few weeks. Don't want to do everything all at once.

On the side note, check out my first ever atempt at cloning!

I was eager to clone my plant for some time now, because I do it all the time with my tomatoes using plain old water. I don't like the idea of using rooting hormones, cloning gels, rockwool cubes etc. Humans have been cloning in water for centuries but then again, cannabis can be expensive so I understand the need for the cloning to proceed with a 95-100% success rate.

Anyway, stuck her in plain old water aboooout 10 days ago? She's on my window sill chilling AND I think it's working. Looks like miniature roots if you take a look at the picture. If all goes well, away she goes into the PC box.

So... time has come. I'm ordering a few parts and one special seed. It's called Dance World and it's produced by Royal Queen Seeds. I'm really touchy now when it comes to genetics (no wonder) and I've heard that RQS is absolutely legitimate. Dance World is high in CBD and finishes fast, per say of course, it's still a sativa. It should help with my anxiety disorder, but then again it's still important to harvest and cure.

It's also going to be a 12/12 from seed experiment, I still have my Goddess Kali in there.

@fishdeth guess what parts I just ordered?

-A nice air pump that rates 7.2l/min (a tad bit less powerful than yours if I recall correctly),
- GHE trio,
-Plagron pH up and down,
-net pots, clay pebbles, rockwool,
-pH pen and TDS meter.

So exciting, can't wait to get them, I hope that in this week.
Can't wait to start DWC.

Good luck dude. I really hate cannabis that makes me feel anxious. It's quite ironic right? I've been looking for a good slower-of-the-heart-beat strains as well. I suffer with anxiety as well as depression. If you have any recommendations for strains let me know.

You know I only came to the conclusion that THC really affects me that way not long ago. I thought it was normal in my condition to feel anxious even with weed (that was even when I had no disorders), but it turns out that's what THC can do to some people.. weird. That's why I want to try CBD.

I feel you man, I can't recommend any strains unfortunately because I just started reading about these specific ones. Although if I finish the Dance World I'll definitely hook you up. You could try this site called leafly .com. You can choose catagories and such to really narrow down your search for specific strains.

Reading up a lot on the prevention of the dreaded Pyhtium AKA Root Rot. Truth be told, sounds like a scary advesary. As always prevention is better than curing. Root Rot thrives in low oxygenated, nutrient ritch and moist enviroments... hydroponics systems are their playground. So if you add a shit ton of oxygen AND keep the temperatures at the 60-75dF range (the lower the temperature the more air H20 molecules can hold) you are depriving pythium of it's two main sources of life.

Good job I didn't skint on the pump, it's about 7.2l/min + I have that rubbish pump that's rated at about 2l/min and I'll add that one IF NEED BE. Also the pump will be situated out of the grow box in the room. I constantly allow that freezing winterish air inside, so I'll have to measure the temperature of the air at ground level.

If all fails I'll add some H202 for prevention, most growers swear by it.

Also, I was thinking of wrapping the reservoir in mylar, because of it's lightproof and light/heat reflecting abilities. Any thoughts on that?

So I bought myself a new humidity gauge... turns out the one I had could be broken... The new one shows that the RH inside my grow box is around 40%!!!! While the older one tells me to fuck off and doesn't even register the humidity (so it's below 20%) WHAT THE HELL. Now I don't know which ones faulty haha.

Anyway, waiting for those deliveries to be made... Everytime a car drives past my house I check to see if it's the postman. I got the TDS meter this morning and have been playing around with it. I'll have you know I checked every single water source I came across and I'm happy to say that my tap water is just below 200 ppm which is great!

And I also bought myself a 18l rectangular container to use the already limited space in the grow box more efficiently. The perfect fit ladies and gentlemen.

I would try 5ml/gal AquaShield/HydroGuard in the res too.
Bennies will also aid in the prevention as well !

Yeah the problem is I cannot find such products around here, although I will keep looking. They seem to really allow hydroponics to flourish. I'm pretty sure you won't have to watch the temps as well that much.

Hey hey hey ladies and gentlemen check it out!

My long awaited DWC setup is finally complete! I had a lot of fun building it yesterday and tweaking a few things here and there. I also shortened the scrog net a little bit so that I can manage the reservoir a little easier. Lots of changes.

The pump has been running for two days and the temperature is stable at 17C/62F (not bad I think). After the temperature readings somehow broke(?) in my TDS meter I went and bought an aquarium thermometer. Looks like older methods are the most reliable.

I soaked a rockwool cube in 5.5 pH water for the night and popped the already slightly cracked seed in. I placed the medium in a DIY humidity dome (two plastic trays on top of eachother) buuut nothing has been happening so far. I've read that it's best to wait until roots start showing at the bottom before putting it into the net pot.

That pump splashes like a motherfucker. I also added mylar to the lid of the reservoir, just to be sure that it isn't overheating.

Apart from that everything is looking swell, the only thing that's bothering me is that I don't have the pH meter yet... it's still being shipped, and by the looks of it I won't be having it for the next two weeks... bloody shame, but what can you do. Everyone needs a rest during Christmas. So for the time being I'll be using a pH tester from General Hydroponics. Not exactly what I'll call convienient or trustworthy, but it's better than nothing.

I was also rumagging through the internet in search of a GH Flora Series feeding chart. I came across one on Grow Weed Easy and after doing some converting and calculating I think I'll stick with it.

So there's nothing much to do really haha, I can't wait until those roots start showing so I can move the cube to the DWC system.

Yea, the GH Flora Series schedule is what I use too, I do add a few things at flower, and YES, the tea is brewing right now for my new girls.

Thanks man. I'll be sticking to guidelines at the moment but after a few weeks maybe I'm sure I'll be able to dial in on my plants needs. Hydroponics is at the moment a big leap in another direction.
