All my supplies came in the mail today. I just got done setting up my sketch little grow room and just put the 5 Fem. Blueberry seeds into wet paper towels and a dark spot. This is my first grow, i have a 400w HPS with aluminum reflector and FloraGro,Bloom,Micro nutes. Tommorrow I am going to Lowes to buy 5 three gallon pots and soil. Anyone have good reccomendation on what soil to buy for an indoor Blueberry grow with Flora nutes?

A lot of ppl, myself included, have had good luck with Foxfarm's Ocean Forest. Its also organic. I just started a new stealth closet grow too, i'll be watching yours with interest! Good luck!

Yeah thats true def not at lowes! I had to drive over an hour to buy it since thats the closest hydro store. Lowes around here only has Miracle Grow of various types, including organic.

Get Miracle Grow Potting Soil. Make sure to buy EXTRA peralite and vermiculite. Mix 50/25/25. That way theres drainage.

so i think im going to buy some Thunderhead i found at a local pipe shop, ill buy some sand and peralite as well. Any suggs. on the mixing ratio?

Also, i check on my 5 seeds in Germ. two have barely begun to sprot, 2 have cracked, and one is being stubborn. I have all the seeds being heated from my laptop : ) When should i put seeds into small red cups? And do i start the 24hr HPS lighting right away?

Thanks! i'm trying to make my first grow actually successful

ill post updated pictures tonight

Any comments (good/bad) are welcome

I've never heard of Thunderhead, but you seem to have a good checklist goin' on. What are you doin for fresh water and fresh air? Peace

I don't see why not to have the HPS and water heater in the same room... If anyone has a specfic reason for it not to, PLEASE let me know!!! The heater doest really produce much heat, and you cant see if but the a/c duct is in the other corner so as long as my a/c is pumping the whole time it keeps it cool. Also for fresh air i've got a small fan i'm going to put in there. For the water... i live in an apartmet so i'm just letting the water sit for 24 hours before using it.

Once the seeds are fully germinated and put in the jiffy pots, do i start the 24 hr lighting cycle?? or wait till the sprout?

I put the light on 24 hours once they are planted. I think you are supposed to keep them pretty wet until they pop up. Thats what I do but I don't know if that is the best method or anything.

Hey man.

Definitely keep the lights on 24 hours once they are in soil. Theres a good chance you're going to need to add an ounce or two of water every night. At least until they sprout, then you can slow down the amount you water.

Keep the lights like 30" above the seedlings at first, then lower it everyday they are strong enough to handle it. Don't burn them!

You have a very neat and tidy setup. I am very impressed and will be offering my opinions upon request.

uh oh, i just raised the lights this morning because i had the light at like 5-6" above : ( it was only for a day but i was adding alot of water just because i could tell it didnt look right. Also last night i turned the light off, and watered again. I just now turned the light back on because i thought i was killing em!! Also, I had a big pot of water sitting out for the chlorine evaporation but the pots were so dry i had to water em with a mix of good water and water outta the faucet. Was this a very big mistake or will i be alright?

Thanks alot guys for the help! i will take pictures and post updates tonight
