Figure This Led Haters

every grow i see people say they get more weight per watt with led so what if we took out the power saving concept and just looked at the lights as a par powered light eg if u have 600watt hps and yeild .5 a watt u get 300 grams but u have to deal with heat so not including fans intakes and exaust now if u took 300 watts of led and yeild say average .8 a gram per watt pluss you dont have to have such a vigours exaust system does that not mean led is a better light every comparision i se is crazy like 90w vs 600w hps but put 2 600w led pannels against 2 600w hps and see really wich light is better with equal power watt for watt

PROOF PERIOD???

US "HPS growers" even tho i use both MH and HPS. we probably wont care. its new technology and "HPS" has been around fer 60 years +!!
equivalency is determined by a few things too, density, aroma, weight, growth rate, grower, the list goes on. so even if "JOE BLOW" grow 20 lbs under a 90 watt ufo, and "JIMMY JOE" gets an ounze under a 1000 HPS has quite a difference too. (COMPLETELY FICTIONAL STORY RIGHT THERE,lol)

and i DEFFINATELY dont got the 2000 dollars to put out on a decent PANEL!?!!

if LED's were better we'd all use them. we aren't HPS fans, we are pot fans. right now, today, HPS produces the best results. common sense stuff.

i totally agree with LEDgrower, the heat in HPS and noise and high maintnence cost is too much for a low key grower, and yes UfO's are wacked and are shitty in terms of coverage and 90 watts is too little for a decent harvest but a 600 watter LED would out produce the 600 watt HPS in quality and yield if grown correctly also if u add maintnence cost for LeD and HPS. What drove my to start growing is the LED, it makes barely any noise and heat and its fucking amazing like alien technology. I dont feel heat but as soon as the light touches my hand it feels like a sunny ass day. Only problem is yellowish leaves i get cuz of lack of full spectrum but a CFL will fix it and still low heat. I had a old school metal hid light and omfg so heavy and the ballast is even more heavy and super noisey. And can put ur house on fire if u leave it on and went on vacation is ventalation fails.

I am for LeDs check out my grow https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/305234-600-watts-led-90-watts.html

MH/HPS/DIGITAL BULBS (of all kelvins), has a dimmer (but i dont use that), QUIET, probably as warm as ur LED panel (the bulb may not be, but this is) AND i paid 160 for this and a hood, and a bulb. wat did u pay fer ur QUIET LED??

my ballasts are cool and quiet.

funny how it's the LED users slinging all the mud.

why you all being so hostile?

Key word, old school HID, that shit was all metal even the ballast, and it felt like it weigh more than me. i got it free but never put it to use cuz of noisy nieghbors my leds weigh only 20 pounds and for the record i got a sweet deal and paid 665$ and works amazing.

price a side though led is a better light if u buy a good watt for watt they will always out performe hid every time as for cost though just think of it as buying 3 years worth of bulbs at one time but they will last for 10+

Leds save more money cuz no ballast! Watt for watt the ballast adds power consumption that does not add to the bulb.

Hey bro...it's almost not worth it...no offense, but trying to get people to see it your way is sometimes a lost cause.

You are better off to expend that energy into your growroom, into your own thoughts and concepts. Forget about trying to convince the nonbelievers.

Hit me up if you wanna chat bro...you got my pm.

It's an uphill and likely losing battle out here...

LED's are also enviromentally friendly...I think pot farmers should be eco friendly...Plus Yield from LED's is on par with HiD.

CMH walks all over LEDs. Besides mass lighting isn't what the LED design was intended for. High Intensity Discharge and the newer technologies of the same concept (sulfur plasma as an example) will continue to be more cost effictive and efficent than LEDs for growing.

Like this isn't rock science people, one big somewhat expensive bulb is still better than a 1000 somewhat cheap LED's. From my extremely limited experience, plants want a full spectrum of light to pick and choose what color photon they want. Give them lots of that broad spectrum light (HPS doesn't cut it here, unless paired with MH... or cough cough CMH for us closet growers).

If you enjoy experimenting then by all means play around with LEDs but I wouldn't bet my smoking supply on unproven technology without at least some small scale experiments.

Something major that needs to be considered as well, is manufactures are quickly going to figure out that as cool as their LED products are the real money will be in the high output lighting that the "commercial" growers might be willing to give up their HPS's for.

Dude, You are correct in one aspect.. Your limited experience....It shows your ignorance...Maybe you should not speak of things you know little about.
