Wow somebody that can spell that shit !

My wife suffers from that fibro crap & it kicks her ass, some days she's right as rain & others she's destroyed,so far all strains work just as good for her as long as the smoke is strong & on hand for her to use before the pain set's in too deeply.

I worked for a woman who has it, worked for her for one year. One year of.. let's just say the best thing I ever did was quit. She was addicted to SROMs, and liked mixing them with booze. vodka was the choice for obvious reasons. She ended up doing a month in St. Helena's, and she's fucking LUCKY that no one called the cops on her and had her kid taken away. She fucked up really, REALLY badly mixing that shit.

Stay on the weed, I don't know shit about strains or anything like that, but stay AWAY from SROMs and the other addictive stuff they've got. There's something new being advertised, I can't remember the name of it. Disclaimer: May not be suitable for those with addiction problems.

Last time I saw this same woman she'd stayed off the SROMs (Slow Release Oral Morphine) and had gotten a scrip for medical maryjane, and said it was the BEST thing she'd ever done. She didn't find out that I burn until pretty close to the time I ended up quitting, and she didn't believe me when I told her how it helps me with my back and hip problems. Then, she tried it, gets from some dispensary, Grass Valley I think she said. She has no idea what she's smokin', and neither do I, but it WORKS, and that's what is important when you're dealing with fibromyalgia.

That.. I have NO idea, I would look at NORML's site for such information. Aren't you relatively close to the border being in Vermont, too?

Fibro is DEFINITELY a chronic condition, it is not terminal unless one considers suicide as a factor, to the best of my knowledge.

Yes, I mean Canada, Vermont's not so close to Mexico and their marijuana laws are rather strict. ;)

I understand about the pain, the oxycontin, even if it does work, needs to be monitored and will lose efficacy after a period of time. It's not even working for you at all, so why take it, right? I assume that you know that marijuana works for you, so the question for you at this point is procurement. If you're close enough to Canada, then it seems to me that, even if you have to limit yourself to smoking it while there (get a hotel room, maybe?) then for at least that period of time you'll get some relief. Even a brief respite from chronic pain is important, I really do understand that. Hell, the other night my husband did a hip rub for me and it felt SO good I wanted to cry, literally. I hadn't realized just how much I've been hurting without any relief until I felt those few minutes of no pain.

So, yeah, if you've got a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, you qualify as a chronically ill patient.

Here in Montreal we have a pot store for ill people.... Check their website. www.clubcompassion.com..It has all the sickness that allow you to smoke here, plus the strains.....e-mail them, maybe they can hook you up in Vermont
You don't try... You don't get :)

I so need help learning the varieties and strains. It'd be easier if the search function didn't have a minimum word/search term requirement.

side affects of lyrica are really SCAREY... be careful is all im saying...

my gf of three years had fibro and the ONLY thing that seems to ease her pain is pot. i dont get why all her doctors want her to take is anti-depressents (like 2 or 3 different ones at once). she says its hell on them, almost like she is in a fog and lack emotion.

Because they don't take the disorder/disease seriously. They think it's in her head. Besides, if she's medicated she won't complain so much. My dad's a doc, and I learned a long time ago how to be a bitch with them, but that doesn't improve treatment by unqualified physicians. Is there any way she can find someone who specializes in fibro, or at least accepts that it exists and will treat her problem instead of her head?

yeah its fucked up how doctors are with anti-depressants they just try and solve every ones problem's with them and all it do's is create more
when i was a child about 7 years old or so the started giving them to me and they hadnt even tested them on adults yet i was a 7 year old ginny pig because i had trouble focusing in class and i had a reaction to the med's witch literally paralysed me for 6 months cause it swelled up all the muscles in my spine .

Fibromyalgia is a very complex illness. I would say Jack Herer would be a good one for pain and anxiety. :blsmoke::peace:
