quitting is starting to look like the best option for now I guess until I can learn more about what I'm doing. It a hard for me to find good info and I have learning disabilities.

man I must be a big asshole because people always get pissed or offended eventually from what I say. I truely don't mean to be. I'm trying to work on that as well.

Usually when you winterize, you don't do it before runnin it in the vacuum. Usually it is done right after blasting. It isn't bad, but it certainly doesn't do anything to benefit. If you have questions ask.

Exactly what @chernobe said. You take your piece of concentrate, drop it in your alcohol. Make sure to desolve it allllllll (via shaking or stirring I do shake) and then place into the freezer for 24-48 hours. Take the concoction and filter it with a coffee filter. Use a fan to evap the Everclear. If you'd like once ALLLLLL dried up. Scrap it and throw it in the vac.

@Will Ferrell I don't think your an ass hole, I just dont think too many see your sense of humor, and I don't mean that in a bad way at all! I clearly saw you are joking. But a lot of people on here, rightfully so, see this as a job, as a medicine, and just see this as a art so some get disappointed or so when they hear someone just say, "I quit" jokingly or not.

Like I said, I thought you were joking when you said it, that's why I helped. I too have bad humor at times lol

Hey thanks man. I'm just beggining to realize I'm a pretty messed up individual and becoming very awkward so I have to question my humor lol.
One minute I feel like I messed up the whole batch. Now it seems as simple as dropping it in a jar of alcohol and popping it into the freezer.
I think I have stumbled upon that website and I'll be sure to look further into it.
but since it's seems so easy again, I guess all I can think to ask now is, does it matter how much everclear I use? I'm guessing i have about 15 grams. It was 16.7 last night but I cut a little chunk off.

I have never used everclear it's hard to get in CA but I would use at least half a mason jar, if not a full one. The reason I say this is without a buchner funnel it will take forever to filter so the more alcohol the better it will flow easier. I would suggest using dry ice and not a home freezer. Pack a bunch around the jar, and after just a couple hours it's ready to go. The alcohol and oil solution has to get to at least -4 and hold for 24-48 hours. Dry ice makes it -50 -75 and only needs a couple hours at that temp. I once used a Monson jar with a smaller mouth and took.out the center cap and replaced it with a coffee filter and screwed it down with the ring. I turned it upside down into another mason jar that had a large mouth and set it in there. So it would drain down and into the other jar. I packed Dry ice all around , below and on top of it and let it set in a styrofoam cooler overnight. Came out decent that way. Be sure to go heavy on the alcohol

I would personally use enough everclear to saturate the concentrate to make it still a liquid consistency. Go half to full mason jar on everclear. I have not used dry ice to winterize just a normal freezer but I'm sure it works great

I'm not in favor of large batch runs. The plant matter acts like a spoung soaking in solvents that need to be squeezed out, more likely for filtration and requiring more solvent than needed. The oil dissolves, just to be deposited on more plant matter the length of the colomn. Your in need of acetone for thorough completion of the extraction. Hexane is another must for terpine recovery. Remembering that you only need a splash per oz. Don't over do it w the everclear.

By packing several smaller tubes we avoided this very problem you mentioned. Defiantly a valid point tho in a big tube, but I doubt I would use acetone. Not knocking your methods or anything like that, just don't think that one it's right for me. We just stick a little piece of dry ice in the cap of the tube where it meets the butane can. The purpose of this is to immediately condense the gas back into a liquid when it enters the tube. It helps out with the overall yield per can. You were right on about using a buchner filter tho, got one shortly after you pointed it out on another thread I had asked for help on
