few cure/smell questions

what about if we had a good smell from the plant prior to chopping and now while curing it smells like shit?

Ive done plenty of reading about curing and the grass smell with the chlorophyll releasing . I have 4 random bag seeds, all chopped at about 9 1/2 weeks due to not knowing strain. mostly cloudy trichs with few ambers from what i could see. I chopped the plants and all of em had a nice more of a citrus smell over a stinky dank bud smell. They hung dry in my basement inside my tent with fan outside the passive intake. outsides dried in about 3 days with the stems able to bend not break, per ganjaluvrs sticky, and then i moved them to jars. but now it smells like udder crap. not even really a wet grass smell or even a bit of citrus. 1 plant is pretty much finished curing as when i popped the lids every 12hrs Im not really noticing anymore moisture and the stems are starting to be able to snap. Its been in the jars for almost a week now and just doesnt have that weed smell at all. And to top it off my 2 others that are still hanging are beginning to smell like shit as well. I dont really think i chopped to early as they all packed on massive weight in weeks 7-8 and stopped after. 2 had to be chopped due to they where starting to produce seeds cause they hermied out early in flower. I picked most of the nanners but must have had a few burst and got to another plant.

Are you gonna ask the same question every day? Patience.

Did you trim before or after you hung the buds to dry? If you finish trimmed BEFORE drying that could be your biggest issue. Wet trim just does not result in the same final aroma (the "nose" of the weed) as dry trimming. We never wet trim, ever. Takes too much nose away. Dry trimming is easier in almost every way and the results are not even close.

Do a side by side test. Wet trim some and on others just pull the biggest fan leaves and hang 'em up, Then trim 'em after they have dried somewhat. You might be surprised at the difference.

well seeing as i asked it only once a few days ago, and you where the only one to respond, i wanted to ask in a already started thread about the same concept.

Im well aware of patience and i have it as ive waiting this long already. Just curious and was looking to expand my knowledge along with getting some peace of mind that i didnt waste all of my time growing to find out it was all garbage. Appreciate your help tho.

Thanks for the info. I did currently do a wet trim of them all as i was getting mixed reviews in all of my readings. some same do it wet cause its easier, which it wasnt very hard to do with them fresh and wet. Yet some also said to leave it til after its dried.

Thanks
