few cure/smell questions

So I have all my trimmed buds in jars sitting right at 60% 4days in. When i take the lid off the jar it has that great stink I'm looking for but.....when i pick up an individual bud theres not much of a smell at all. Its sticky but no smell. Crazy thing is, when i squeeze it the smells come out that individual bud. Can someone tell me the cause of this? I will say that i think its drying too fast as it only takes about 3/4 to dry. I have 4 more plants today I'm cutting and i think im going to hang in a 4x8 tent i have instead of out in the open basement that I usually hang in. Any input?

Congratulations on your harvest, it's always nice to get those out of the way. 3-4 days is pretty fast imo. You can dry it in your tent you just need to circulate that air. What's your cutting method? Do you trim every thing off first or do you leave it all on till it's dry?

Temp right at 65 and humidity at 50. Havent tried the tent yet. I take off fan leaves and do a minor trim wet. Then a final trim when dry. Not understanding why when i squeeze i get the smell I'm looking for but i dont individually otherwise

Long and slow is best, never be in a hurry to pack
better go the other way, and hang too long
but always keep an eye on your wall hung Humidity gauge,
too long in damp you get mold spores, too dry you cough too much
those Italian jars(boveda?) are great to those still learning

I have the boveda packs but still want to get to the root of my pronlems in order to perfect the most important stage of the grow.

Besure you have a steady and constant cure room, like that cellar in winter may give you issues, but would be great in summer ...still your choice tho?

Temp right at 65 and humidity at 50..!
I prefer it the other way temp at 50 and 65%Rh

So is there a way to get that smell to sustain now or is it too late?
Properly drying and curing your weed is the best way to prepare it to last as long as possible. Everything degrades but you can maintain it best by removing the oxygen and storing in a cool, dry place.

Guessing i dried too fast then. I'll have to fig out a way to slow it down. All my jars are sitting @56 rh. Should I still attempt to burb or is it safe to just jar for storage at this point? I have 4 more plants ready to chop and i wanna make sure i get this right for the future

Hard to say, if you have good smelling stuff when you grind it and it smokes smooth, you probably did okay. How long did you dry and cure for?

You can lengthen your dry time by increasing humidity if low, or decreasing temps if high. It can also be bad to have too much air moving on them, only a little is needed.

Probably no need to burp much longer. Maybe hit them once a day for a couple days, then once a week for a couple weeks.

Dried for about 4 days. Only been in jars about a week.
That isn't horrible but you'll probably find they smoke a little smoother with a slower dry. Just from personal experience I think mine come into form somewhere around day 14-17 of combined dry and cure time. Your mileage may vary.
