Fan and filter for a gorilla shorty tent Help Please

I have read every "small tent filter and fan setup" forum post online.

My tent is 2.5 x 2 feet by 6 foot high.

Was set on a s&p td silent series fan and was gonna get a 2600 or 2900 can filter. bought the fan local then realized it was not silent version. Then I found out s&p stopped making high and low speeds, in the size I need, and running on high would be loud option. sooooo....

Thinking about an expensive
Q-Max 6" Pro Series Fan 3 speeds
at low speed 143 cfm, and a Can 33 filter with min 100 cfm requirement.

I think thats overkill but would like larger tent in future anyways.
Just worried it may be too much for my little 2 x 2.5 foot tent.

I would love some opinions on if my tent will implode sucking into itself..
Or am I a fool for wanting this size fan and filter for my tent size.

Noise is an issue and smell is an issue. Thank you for reading.

Can 33 is my favorite small filter so looks like you are headed the right direction. I would guess that on low setting you will be fine but can’t say for sure as I’ve never done it myself in tent that small.

skip the fan
a 4 inch booster fan with metal blades will do a 100 cfm .....at a lower noise lvl and for alot cheaper in power cost / buy cost

4 inch booster fan 2 types metal blades spin 100 cfm plastic blades spin 90 cfm
6 inch booster fan will do 240 cfms

Through a filter?
i am byist i like foothill carbon filters
https://www.ebay.com/usr/foothill-carbon-filters?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

they are refillable so once the carbon is used up dump out and fill again with fresh stuff cutting the price to 1/4 of what u would spend on new filters every 12-15 months
if going on size posted
https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-X-12-ACTIVATED-CARBON-AIR-FILTER-HYDROPONIC-ODOR-CONTROL-REFILLABLE/401549293622?hash=item5d7e33f836:g:x9oAAMXQWuRRATcx&frcectupt=true

that will do the area every 15 secs (24 cubic feet with cfm 100 ).....i go for the 100cfm booster fan it should get u a full 15 months but if u go the 170 cfm inline shorten it to 12 ........it is rated for 100 to 200cfm so any 4 inch fans should work if already have one

if u want extra sound cover use bungee cords to absorb the vibrations

oh and for sound .........build a baffling box ........get a 12x12x12in box make 2 holes in it for the ducting ....put the ducting tho hook in the fan and then wrap it in the box with those egg crate sleeping mats for beds and then just tape it up plug it in and u have the quietest fan possible

the only other sound will be at the exhaust point and a good defuser will take care of more of it if really worried ........they make mufflers for ducting to kill the sound at eject point

I have never had luck with a booster fan with any kind of back pressure not sure how your doing that but I don’t recommend it any booster fan I’ve had won’t push or pull air with much pressure.

I have looking at the ac infinity fans too and if I have any fans that gonout that’s what I will prob buy.

Thanks for all the feedback!

I want an inline fan and carbon filter not a booster/duct fan.

Something I just dont like about the infinity fan. Maybe the digital aspect, maybe the added temp control features.

Yes I have a thick rubber flooring that I plan to wrap around fan for added sound control.

Still unsure what to buy. but we are on week 4 of flower and my 4 little legal plants are starting to really stink and dont want to bother the neighbors in my apartment.

Any more ideas would be great. Thanks yall

If your on week 4 of flower u might as well just go buy a fan, plug em in at the store and see which ones is quieter. All
My fans make noise from 4 inch to 6 inch to 8inch. There are mufflers you can buy I know htg supply has them. They might helps some. But if your on week 4 of flower you should prob just go get one and not worry about the noise so much. Hell I have two in the room I sleep in and can’t even notice em any more unless they off for some reason then sounds real quiet. Moving air makes noise regardless of how quiet fan motor is.

Edit: and I’m not trying to be a dick but just that if my neighbor in an apartment had that question at week 4 of flower I’d tell them the same thing. Even with it being legal not everyone likes to smell your grow. Hell I wouldn’t wanna smell my neighbors grow and I like the smell of herb.

yes you are right. smell and noise top concerns and I bought a fan and then returned it that is why i have no fan. i keep oil infuser by front door so hallway always smells like xmas cookies but getting a fan will happen asap.

I am leaning towards the hyper fan stealth or qmax fan pro both 6" (both built into silencer). the max i can buy local, the hyper I would have to order in.
I'm looking for cfm info to find out which I can turn lower with built in control. both will be overkill Im sure.

hyper fan stealth 6" with can filter 33, fan wrapped in rubber flooring and insulated ducting.
All in the shopping cart. going to cook dinner and think about it a bit more before I pull the trigger.

Final thoughts from anyone? DON'T BUY THAT! lol.

Thanks yall

I have the exact tent except a foot taller. I run a s&p td 100x 4” through a can lite 4” filter. I think the can 33 will be too big and heavy personally. There is just enough room to hang my setup diagonally across top of tent. Filter hooked to fan directly. The fan won’t cool a 200 watt led light in the summer, I hafta turn the light down a bit. If you locate your big 6” fan outside the tent you might be alright. The ac infinity I have is quieter and in my opinion a bit better.

yes it is going to be a tight fit. You are right the can 33 is a big beast (1 foot by 1 foot ) sort of have a plan for fan outside tent and I can add that extra foot to my tent if needed but the lower height fits so nicely in my closet.
I ordered the can 33 filter and hyper fan stealth 6". I think I may buy a bigger tent for next round and use the shorty tent for clones, some vegging and maybe some drying.
I'm hoping this setup works for now. Will update when fan arrives and I have it set up.

2 purple kush, one super silver haze and one white cookies all nearing week 5 and all stanky and beautiful looking. working on cloning each strain and adding sour diesel to my next round. had 5 sour diesel seeds from crop king seeds, none of them popped.. going to order sour diesel from royal queen and hope they work.

Nice choice. I have the regular 6" hyper fan and Phresh Carbon Filter in a Gorilla 3x3x8. Currently, I have it on the lowest setting and it is quite as. I don't have the filter hooked up yet as I don't need it as of yet.

That stealth is a nice unit.

I'm impressed with the controller functionality included with the AC Infinity T series. Some day.

××××××××××××××
Intelligent Controller

The controller can be programmed to adjust fan speeds to respond to varying high and low temperatures, and humidity. For ventilation applications, the controller can be set to run continuously, or triggered to run at customizable speeds when given power, due to its backup memory capability. Additional features includes a countdown timer, alarm system, and eco-mode. Includes detachable 12-foot precision probe that is water resistant. Can connect to an additional CLOUDLINE S6 fan to share the same programming and power source.

Good to know its quite! nice pic and set up

My Filter arrived today but with the wrong ducting and no fan :(.

Now I am waiting for a response after they contact factory and find out where the fans at.

I should have figured out ventilation way before week 5 flower. lol.

At least I am legal. Still don't want anyone to know my growing.

just got an email saying they cannot provide the 6" hyper fan silenced and are offering me the vortex as a replacement which I do not want.
Sigh.
Now I have to find an alternative quiet fan that will pump through my can 33 filter. or return the filter as well.
I can buy a silenced max fan locally but really am unhappy. maybe I will try to order the hyper from a different source and keep burning popcorn to cover the smell. I am very
