I've heard a lot about worm casings, first time i saw live worms suggested. What species do you suggest?
Also would they encourage pests to develop?
Ive used regular earthworms from outside my house, i grow indoors so idk about the pest issue. If u grow organically its a great thing.

I'm just trying to anticipate any potential side issues. You've probably heard of places that introduce some organism only to see it run rampant with no predation so some predator is added and then that blows up too. Or maybe earthworm poop creates some bacteria i've never heard off etc. etc.

I just don't know much about organic growing. If you never had a problem you can attribute to earthworms then awesome, but if you did I'd like to know.

On my second grow i used them, 3 of em, had em about 2 weeks n then stopped seeing them, never caused any issues i was aware of.

Can we get some tips for lightening up soil in here?
Let's say I can't get the brand that someone recommends for whatever reason.
Perlite seems to be the obvious answer, would it be more effective crushed up or in little cubes?
What about something like dichotomous earth? That stuff is amazingly light when dry but seems to get very dense when wet.
Maybe a mix of like 80% perlite is a effective or is that a good idea taken to an extreme?
I like a base mix of 25% worm casings, 25% potting soil, 25% crushed coir and 25% perlite. To that you can add smaller amounts of the nutrients and minerals. The coir gives it some water retention while the perlite gives it drainage. There are a million variations.

Earthworm poop contains tons of beneficial bacteria which is why it is so valuable.

A very secretive grower who is failing to tell the full story, crops his pics but leaves his dads for all to see?
Use that shitty T5 for germing then use the 250wMh for all veg starting at 2 ft ...down to 8 inches b4 bud
but the biggest screw up here is the growers use of perlite ...and yes his attitude?

Sorry if i was rude, i didnt meant to, i really respect everyone here, iam a noob iam here to learn.

My new soil medium is 40%peat moss 40%perlite and 20%worm casings. I didnt find the mix that Juzz recommended, i tried to make a similar.

Thanks for your answers.

You need a fan in there blowing on the little ones. You also need to check the watering. Those pics show some dry ass ruble of a soil. If your medium is too corse the roots could be getting jammed up.

Don't be afraid of worm castings they are truly mother nature's gift, at your plants age
and the soil mix you have you might need to use a mild fertilizer, I like Gen. Hydro.
Flora Nova they are simple 1 part nutes good for starters, or Fox Farm Go Box is very
good to. Start any fertilizers at quarter strength.
Aerate the soil and water a little more than we see in the pics. the soil looks quite dry.
You can also get a Mycorrhizae culture to add to your soil these are the microbes that
break down the nutes so the plants can uptake their food.
Keep us posted on your progress.
Keep it green and growing.:peace:

Just remember everybody was a noobie a some point in time.
Some people can be rather blunt but they do mean well.
Keep working slow and steady, no radical fixes ever work
and the soil and the lights are the most important part the plant
simply reacts to them.
Good luck.
Keep it green and growing.

Thank you so much. My only concern/question is that the plants gonna recoger themselves after a while? Or are they stunned for the whole growth?.

Thanks

What are you growing, photo period or auto flower?
If it's photo they will recover somewhat but auto's will be stunted.
Just give them extra time in veg.(if photo) patients will be rewarded.

Photo period. Candy kush express from RQS
You should be OK but make sure your soil is aerated well and water a little more (I think)
next time use a soil made for seedlings this should help, I like Espoma Organic if you
can get it where you are if not try Fox Farm Happy Frog or Roots Organic.
What ever you use make sure it has mycorrhizae added to it or buy a culture yourself.
Try adding a little dried powdered kelp to your soil this helps with stress, mix with ph
adjusted water.

Addendum:
Once you get them going you can veg. as long as you want.
just remember to wait until the shade leaves grow in a staggered
pattern not opposite each other before you go to 12/12.
Keep it green and growing. :peace:
