Hey all long time no posting i have been busy busy.
So early this year i was here asking around about how to minimize water trips and spots and all the newbie question, this is my experience sharing thread.
First lesson learned was one should not bite more than e can chew i started out lots of seeds in march and some did not enjoy the wind and died, some did not have a proper hole so they dried out. Focus on 3 if you can dont start out 10 and make a stupid job on some like i did.
Second lesson, water is life, if you know you have 40Cº in mid summer dont be shy on pot\hole size, vermiculite and coco, i would advice 8L coconut in the bottom of the hole to retain the most when you water or rains. i have a smaller plant in 7.5L pot but 11L ones look much better and much less demanding on watering. I have to haul water in a waste land, up to a small hill and into a closed terrain and its a physical challenge when you have 41Cº and 100% humidity, twice now i almost fainted trying to get 40L there...
Third lesson, mulching is a must in dry weather... if you dont be prepared to handle heat stress more often.
Fourth lesson, make your favourite soil recipe and once you choose it put some extra worm castings on ir and other slow release like guano i will be worth it in the end of season.
Fifth lesson, even if your plants look like dead, withering and all dont touch just srpay in early morning and water them more often, i could swear some mornings i got up to my spot and they looked done for, but after a slow watering they survived.
Sixth lesson neem Oil is you friend... one time a week saved me a lot of trouble.
Started to see some signs of flowering last week, slow, but we are at least half way done, i think i was spotted once so far, took me 4 hours of hiding and i only got out at night and almost died eatten by bugs and plants so stays safe guys!
